The rain pounded down hard in the alley as it washed away the blood down the drain pipes, Angel finally mustard enough strength to get to one knee. Looking up at the sky he let the rain wash over his face feeling it stinging the various cuts on his face but he welcomed the pain because it was over. The fight was finished and he was still standing, well kneeling anyway but that was beside the point. He glanced around at the dozens of bodies littering the ground. A look of satisfaction crossed over his face as he felt his strength return to him and using his sword he brought himself to a full stand. His back ached and he was fairly certian that his ribs were broken, though he woud feel none of this come tomorrow.

"Looks like the fang boys are the only ones to make it through, lucky us," came the sarcastic british tone of Spike. Angel looked to his left to see Spike leaning against a dumpster, his leather coat soaked with blood, most of it his own. He slowly leaned up and made his way over to Angel with a limp.

"Gun and Alyria?" Angel asked already knowing the answer.

Spike shook his head, "Lost track of Charlie boy and the blue haired wonder right in the thick of it. I don't know about you but I'm not in the mood for where's waldo." Angel could only give a slight nod not liking the idea of just leaving their friends bodies out here but Spike was right, it would take days before they would find them in all this carnage. If there were even bodies to find or pieces.

"Let's get inside the hotel and clean ourselves up," Angel said turning towards the back entrance of the Hyperion but stopped at the sudden sound of what seemed like thunder. Angel turned back to Spike and judging from his expression they both knew it wasn't thunder. All of a sudden Angel could feel his chest tighten up and he gasped out for breath as he hit the ground with both knees. Looking up at the sky he could feel his insides tearing apart, his mind splitting in two, the pain was so great. Then it dawned on him what was happening.

"What's wrong? What's this all about?" Spike asked but his voice was distant in Angel's head as he looked up at the sky to see clouds part and a blue light came crashing down on him into his chest.
