song-fic, off the new Kelly Osbourne song "One Word"
Spoilers: none that I can think of.
One word breaks the code of silence,
Silence tells me all I need to know.

"Grissom" Sara said as she stood in the doorway of his office "we need to talk, please talk to me"
"Ok Sara we can talk, close the door, and sit down"
Sara slowly closed the door and hesitantly sat down in the chair in front of Grissiom's desk.
"I need to know what is going on between us, please tell me how you feel, I need to know or I'm just going to break down." Sara sobbed.
"Sara, we've been through this, we can't do anything."
One
word driven in to madness,

"That's not what I asked Grissom, please I need to know how you feel," slowly Sara's voice started raising to an almost yell, " Please Grissom, I need to know what you feel for me, or don't, you don't understand this is tearing me apart."
"Sara calm down, you need to calm down before I can talk to you."
"Ok," Sara said calming down, " ok I'm calm tell me"
"Sara I don't have any feelings for you, besides being co-workers, other than that there is nothing, besides if we did we couldn't do anything about it." Grissom lied

"Oh ok, well ill be back," Sara whispered an cried at the same time, " I will be back with me resignation form, I will miss this place, goodbye"
Before Grissom could get another word out Sara threw the door open and ran out sobbing.

have I done, I lied to the woman I love and ran her out of
town, the state even, on lie started everything, one lie is going to
change my life, the whole labs life.
Grissom thought, while
resting his head in is hands and weeping.

"Grissom?" Catherine said as she walked into his office, " What's up with Sara she ran out of here crying and she wouldn't stop to tell me why, Grissom…are you crying, what did you do Grissom, what did you do?"

"I told her no Catherine," Grissom got out between sobs, " I told her I had no feelings for her, and now she is leaving, I ruined our team, our family."

"No," Catherine said, " that is were you are wrong, you could be together, you just had to have your way and be difficult, you know I love you, but you deserved this, after everything you have put her through, now would have been a perfect time to tell her the truth, that you cant live without her, that he need her by your side all the time, but you screwed up again, and you, all of us, will have to pay."

After Catherine's little speech she just slowly left his office to leave Grissom weeping, hating himself, wondering what to do. She walked down the hall, her footsteps echoing down the tiled corridor.
