It had to be an illusion,
just another illusion that she'd made,
just another attempt,
just another trick,
to maintain control,
and build her own identity-
beyond the fabric of who she actually is,
and in a way, being the fox
was like writing,
but your subject is yourself
and how you turn out
does not have to be true,
Deception has the power to corrupt,
because it is corruption, itself,
and she doesn't doubt that Miraculous are chosen,
not by the individual gifting it to another,
nor by the Kwami that has a new master,
but by something deep down,
unnervingly related to just whatever it was
that your powers would become,
and she is just like the rest.
A fox: (verb) Baffle or deceive someone,
and isn't that just what she'd done?
Identities are shards of glass, some are shattered,
some are taped or glued together,
but they always unravel,
at the first sign of a deception.
