Once upon a time, there was a house on a big hill. That house was very old, and very dark, and said to be haunted. A man was said to live there—a man created, not born. This man was a man of legends and fairy tales alike, told to small children to keep them in shape. "If you eat any more cookies, the man in the house at the top of the hill will come for you," "Don't be snippy, or Edward will find you," the sort.

For Edward was a special case. Edward was created by an inventor, many years ago. The inventor was very old, and likewise lonely. One day, the inventor decided to make himself a companion. He gave Edward a body, complete with a heart, a brain, everything. But the inventor couldn't give Edward hands as of yet. He gave Edward scissors for hands until he could attach hands to his wrists.

When one particular Christmas drew near, the inventor gave Edward hands as an early present. He had been showing Edward his new hands when he suddenly died, leaving Edward alone in the world. Edward never did get his hands.

Many years later, Edward met a kind woman by the name of Peggy. She took him home to live with her family, and for a time, Edward was happy. He was famous as a hairdresser and hedge cutter in the small suburbia in which Peggy lived. But as with all good things, this had to come to an end at one point. And so it did. Problems arose, and Edward was forced to abandon his newfound friends, happiness, and even his first love.

Ever since then, the lonely man with scissors for hands has lived in solitude, unable to die and unable to truly live. But soon, he shall once more experience the world outside his front door, outside his topiary garden, and outside his protective shell. Soon, Edward will live again.

A/N: So, I just saw Edward Scissorhands and it was so sad. At the end, I was basically breaking down. Even in writing that 325 word drabble, I was pretty much unable to see due to tears. So yeah. This might be an OC story. It probably will be, unless I decide to just third-person Edward.

God, I love that movie. REVIEW. Should I continue?
