"When me and my family lived by a river, it rained there all the time. But never as hard as when it flooded.

It was the first flood we experienced. My mother was missing half the time. Me and my father were looking for her until he fell... He fell into the flooded river and drowned. Because I pushed him. Out of rage, I bumped into him and he fell. My mom found me shortly after, confronting me and demanding where my father was. I ran away, too ashamed to confess. I was on my own for about three moons, coming across a small family on the moors miles away from the group cats.

It was a family of four, the mother's name was Sorrel, the father was Needle. The kits were around my age, their names were Jammie and Hawk.

At the time I was staying with them, it was obvious Hawk liked me. I didn't like him back... I regret being rude to him now.

I had been with them for a moon when it happened. Hawk and I were taking a walk. This is what happened:"

Ember's ginger ear flicked as she and Hawk padded silently through the forest. Hawk finally broke the silence, stopping and stepping in front of her.

"Ember, I- I really like you, and I know that you'll be leaving soon... I just needed to tell you before you left.." he meowed quietly. Ember looked away. "Hawk, you're really kind and all, but..." his ears lowered. "I just don't like you that way."

Hawk hung his head. "I'm sorry..." he whispered. Ember frowned. "No- It's fine, I do like you as a friend-" she was cut off when he softly pressed his nose against hers, pulling back afterward. "H-hawk... I.." she trailed off, ears red. He sighed, turning away. She was about to say something, when, suddenly she felt a piercing pain in her left side, she fell over, gasping.

"Are you okay?" Hawk asked, kneeling down next to her and reaching a paw out to touch her side.

She let out a hiss, swiping at him with her claws unsheathed. Her eyes widened when she realized where she had struck.

His neck.

She had struck out and hurt her friend.

He opened his mouth, a choking sound escaping from his throat before collapsing, blood pooling out of his neck.

Ember stumbled back, eyes wide. "N-no... No!" she cried, staring at her paws. I killed him...

Hawk collapsed, eyes wide and draining of their sky-blue color. Blood pooled out of his neck and mouth, his body becoming colder and colder...

"After that, I ran away from the family.

I never knew how, or if they ever found him like that...

Then I came across the Fangs.

Lost...

She was the first cat I ever felt was my friend.

She introduced me to Storm, even if I wasn't so nice to him at first.

Eventually, Lost told me she had a crush on him.

I was cool with it.

Or so I acted like that.

With my mother's voice manipulating me, I felt jealous.

I liked Storm too, and then...

I bet you know what happened.

I regret almost every discission I've ever made.

And probably the last..."
