The Darkness
A Poem of the Complexities of Vincent Valentine
=================================
Trapped.
I awaken.
For the first time in many a day
Awareness comes upon me
As a horrible knife,
Stabbing.
Leaving me wounded.
Fleeting memories
Pass through my broken, shattered mind.
Torture.
A woman,
But I cannot remember her face.
She is gone.
I am changed.
What am I?
In place of human,
Something entirely different.
Beast. Monster.
I begin to remember.
Lucrecia, the woman,
The woman ever unobtainable,
Though I loved her.
Ever shall I love her,
Ever shall her love torment my soul.
My very being, tortured.
He loved her as well.
He who changed me.
He who made me what I am.
I would kill him,
Would feel joy
In watching his blood drain,
Drain slowly from his body.
But revenge is meaningless.
All is nothing now,
In my oblivion.
All is lost.
I try to writhe within my prison,
But cannot.
Love taken from me,
Humanity stolen by the Corporation,
Its evils affecting all.
My prisons,
That which was made by the Corporation,
And that which was made by me,
Bind me.
I lay unmoving.
All is lost.
Hopeless. Dreamless.
Darkness.
