"Everybody clap your hands!" Suddenly, the gym filled with applause just as the cheerleader had instructed. Behind his head, the ginger heard boys talking about the cheerleader in hushed whispers.
"She's hot, right?"
"I'd tap that."
"Ha, like she'd ever go for you."
"Please, those kinds of girls are so easy."
"Yeah, tru-" Before he could finish his sentence, the young Cancer spun around and punched the boys, hearing the crunch of their noses under his fist and feeling his hands get splattered with blood. The girl next to him screamed, pulling Karkat out of his daze and causing him to look at everyone in shock, feeling the red liquid drip from his hands and one of the boys' shirt collar tangled in his fingers until, finally, he felt someone pull him away and drag him to the principal's office.
"Are you serious?" He heard a girl's voice in his ear, stopping him in his tracks as she pulled him along. He turned around slowly, meeting eyes with the brunette with ginger streaks cheerleader. "A fight? And only on orientation day? You're not gonna last long in this school." She sighed, before smiling and leaning closer to him, crouching down to reach the same height as him. "But I think you're cute, so I don't think I'll turn you in." She booped his nose before standing straight up again, looking around before grabbing his hand and taking him away again. "How about we get some coffee or something? I gotta go change first, though."
Eventually, they made it to the girls' locker room, where she made Karkat stand behind a row of lockers as she changed in front of it. On the wall, a mirror hung, and, without the girl noticing, Karkat blushed brightly at her reflection as she changed. "F-fuck…" He muttered under his breath, trying to turn away as she stripped off her shirt and her skirt and hummed a cheerful tune. He grabbed his jeans tightly, shaking as he shut his eyes shut, feeling his face getting hotter and hotter.
Soon enough, the girl came out from behind the lockers wearing a super loose, light pink tank top, under that, an olive green one. Then, of course, on one hand was an olive green, fishnet, fingerless glove to match her bright, catlike eyes and on her head rested two green cat ears. When she opened her locker, she pulled out a green cat tail and pinned it on the back of her shorts before shoving her uniform into her locker and grabbing his hand again, pulling him out of the room and out of the school. Soon stopping in the middle of a sidewalk and turning around, she spoke to Karkat again. "Oh, by the way, my name's Nepeta."
"Karkat…" He muttered, still a bit red in his pale-as-hell face.
She laughed a bit at his awkwardness before smiling kindly and holding her hand out for him to shake. "Nice to meet you!"
