Another Christmas one shot.
I have too much free time...
I don't own Hetalia
Italy sighed, shutting the mailbox. It was that time of year again. He hated Christmas. He always did. He never got the one thing he wanted most.
He wanted his Holy Rome back.
He asked for him every year, but his wish was never granted. He knew he should give up, but he just couldn't do it. No matter how hard he tried, he couldn't give up. Not when he knew there was a chance that the empire was alive.
It was a small chance though, and he knew it.
He walked inside, grabbing a plate of pasta and sitting by the window. He watched as the mailman came and took the letter and left. He smiled softly, hoping that maybe...just maybe...his wish would be granted.
"Veeh...I miss you, Holy Rome..."
Holy Rome opened his eyes slowly, then bright light practically unbearable. He tried to sit up, but found that he couldn't.
"Ah! You're awake!" A cheery voice said, footsteps coming closer. He forced his eyes open a little, looking over at the speaker. "Hi! I'm Finland! Its nice to meet you! I've been looking for you for years out know! You are the Holy Roman Empire, right?" He tried to speak, but couldn't get his voice to work. He nodded a tiny bit, more like a twitch of the head than a nod. "Great! Let's get you some water! And food~!"
Finland cared for the former empire for the next two weeks, and by Christmas eve he had regained all of his strength.
"You really know where my Italy is?" He ask for the hundredth time. Finland smiled and nodded.
"Yep! And I'm taking you there tonight!"
And so, that night, Italy was woken up by a loud knock on his door.
"Veeh...who is it?" He asked, opening the door. "Ah! Ciao Finland!"
"Italy~! I brought you a present!" Italy forced his smile to stay in place.
"Oh...really? Grazie! What is it?" Finland smiled and stepped aside, vealing a certain blonde wearing one of Finland's spare Santa outfits.
"I-Italy...it's you..." Italy stared at the man in front of him, eyes going wide.
"I-is that...Holy Rome!" He launched himself at the former empire, throwing his arms around his neck, tears streaming down his face. "T-thank you so much Finland!"
Christmas, Italy decided, was a wonderful holiday.
i dunno why I've been so into Christmas this year...
R&R!
