A gentle breeze, a breath of a whisper, that's all he felt; gingerly brushing his pale skin. Almost as if he would shatter if the wind pressed past any harder. His soft blond hair swirled and twisted with the winds, swaying in his vision. He breathed carefully; afraid to disturb the winds.
Mr. Money. Oh, how long ago it seemed he had heard that name. Since the sound of the words entered his mind. It had only been a few years since…Since that first mention of X-Day, but it was still so long ago. To him at least. Time had drawn by so slowly. Leaves fluttered past, coaxed from the branches they lay clinging to, falling onto the water's surface. Crystal, that's what the water looked like on that day. Rippling crystal.
To remember was almost painful. It hurt to see her smile; it hurt to hear her voice, knowing she wasn't there. She had made the first mention of that dream. X-Day. Of course she hadn't meant it. But it had still become everything. It was the only thing that united them…At first. Emotions took a role; no matter what anyone wanted to think.
Love grew beautifully, such as a sakura blossom. A sakura blossom. The memory tore at his heart again, but the stitches that had been sewn held tightly. She had sewn them, all those years ago. Finally, he gave a heavy sigh. The winds replied with a burst of speed. His hair whipped with it as it flew past, running freely. Freedom had been the only thing they'd wanted.
They wanted to run free. Just as the wind. Not to be imprisoned within the concrete walls. That was their common wish. A very slight smile pulled at his lips; remembering once again the laughter he had shared with them. That was a good memory, one that helped keep him together. Just the thought of their laughter made him spread into a wonderful smile. Even if he couldn't go back…
He let out another sigh, this time more of contentment. It was only memories of those days that he had, but they meant everything to him. They were as close as he would get to any one of them, but they still held a certain comfort. One that wouldn't vanish with time. He looked down at the ground below him. Cold and black, worn by time and many people. It seemed empty in a way. No footsteps upon it. No couples walking; holding hands. He wanted to hold her hand again. Just one more time. He still loved her…
He turned his head back up, hearing the soft click of footsteps in front of him. The clicks ceased as eyes met. Her eyes. His breath caught, and his eyes widened. The breeze played with her hair, and her eyes sparkled brightly. She stood there in front of him, confident, smiling. It was really her again. The girl he had continued to love long after they lost touch. It was the girl who had indirectly created X-Day.
It was the girl that had mended his heart…

-In denial- They can't end X-Day just like that! What happens?! ;.; I wanna know! Well, seeing only a couple of fics, and wanting to do something continuing on X-Day, I decided to try my luck at this little one shot. I hope you enjoyed it. Please review and let me know what I did wrong, or right. n.n I'd like to find out your opinions, really!
Disclaimer: I do not own, nor claim of own X-Day, or it's characters.
