A/N: I figured I need to write more fanfiction if I want to be better at it. This is about Kitty being abused as a child, so don't read it if you're uncomfortable. Kitty and Marley were never enemies here.
Aged 5
Kitty ran around frantically looking around for her coloring pencils. She was upset, she colored when she was upset. At school, she had been sent home early. Kitty and her best friend Marley were playing when Kitty needed to go to the bathroom. It was toy day, and Kitty had bought in her teddy bear Mr. Cuddles. While her friend was gone, Marley picked up to look at him. When Kitty came back she snatched from Marley and shouted at her telling her not to touch him again. Marley started crying and Kitty apologized, hugging her. Then Kitty was sent home early. Once she had found her coloring pencils she drew a picture of her and Marley playing with Mr. Cuddles, together. Then her mother knocked on the door. When Kitty saw her he knew she had been crying. "Your Dad wants to see you. In the basement." Then she walked away.
The Wilde family's basement was scary. It smelled of... blood? Kitty's dad sat on the bed as it was a spare bedroom. He gestured for her to sit next to him, so she did. "Katherine, I'm not happy with you. You got sent home early, you're not sick. You did a bad thing." By this point Kitty was crying. "I'm sorry, Daddy." She whimpered. "You know crying doesn't work, stop it. NOW!" Kitty couldn't stop, she was sad. It was then her dad punched her and her nose started bleeding. He lifted her by the collar of her shirt, slammed her against a wall and she cried even more. "What did I say about crying?" He grimaced at her. Kitty was to choked up to speak. Her body collided with the floor as more tears threatened to fall. Kitty's father left the room and Kitty was locked in there, alone. She struggled up to the bed and could feel the bruises on her arms as she pushed herself up.
The next day Kitty's mother covered her with make-up. At school, Marley approached Kitty looking concerned. "Are you okay?" Kitty nodded but Marley knew something was up. "I'll give you some Smarties if you tell me." Marley grinned. "Okay, but you can't tell anyone." So Kitty told Marley what had happened.
Marley accepted everything very gently and offered Kitty candy from her lunchbox. And like she promised, she never told a soul.
