Charles' POV
"Mother! Charlie took my quill again!" Charles groaned as his sister's voice drifted down the stairs. From the next room, their mother, Augusta Hunter, said, "Charles Regulus Black, what have I told you about your manners?" "Sorry, Mother!" Charles sighed, and leaned back, staring at the wall, decorated with a poster of the Weird Sisters, a few photos of him and his mates, and a giant Slytherin banner. Even though he and Kate were twins, they were nothing alike. For starters, Charles is in Slytherin and Kate is in Gryffindor. They also looked nothing like each other. Charles took after their father, Regulus Black, only that instead of gray eyes, his eyes were a deep sea blue. Kate had light brown hair, streaked with blond, steely gray eyes, and a lean build. Just then, there was a knock on his door. "Come in." he said, and their house elf, Milly, bowed himself in. "Master Charles, your Hogwarts letter have arrived, sir. Would you like Milly to bring it up?" he asked. Charles nodded, and Milly bowed again, backing out of the room. Charles sighed again, his eyes drifting to the picture of his father on his bedside table. He missed him more than anything, and would've given anything to have him back. Milly came back in, and held out a letter bearing the Hogwarts crest. Charles took it and dismissed Milly. He ripped open the envelope and read through the letter quickly. "Katherine! A letter arrived for you!" his mother called up the stairs. After a moment, Charles heard Kate stomping down the stairs. "Would you shut up, Kate?" he yelled. Kate stuck her head through the door and grinned. "Of course I can't, dear brother. By the way, Teddy wants you over for a sleep-over. Mother already agreed, so you can Floo over whenever." She threw him an over-night bag and flounced down the hall. Charles' face brightened and he began hurriedly stuffing a change of clothes into the bag. Teddy Lupin was his best friend, even though their houses were natural rivals. He dashed out of the room, yelled a goodbye to his mother and ran down the stairs. He skidded to a halt by the fireplace, where Milly was waiting for him with a jar of Floo powder. He took a hand full of powder, threw it into the grate and stepped in.
When he slowed down, Charles threw a hand out and fell out of the fireplace. "Can you ever get the landing right?" a voice laughed. Charles got up, dusted himself off and glared at Teddy. "Do you have to comment on it?" he retorted. Teddy grinned and shook his head, shaking his blond hair out of his eyes. "As a matter of interest, why blond today?" Charles asked as they walked up the stairs. Teddy shrugged. "Dunno, felt like it, I suppose." Charles tossed his bag on to Teddy's bed and looked around. "Seems slightly different from the last time I came here…" his gaze fell on the new Gryffindor hangings. "Of course…" he muttered, as Teddy roared with laughter. "Hello, Charles." Andromeda had appeared in the doorway. "Hi, Aunt Andromeda. Thank you for inviting me over." Charles replied politely. Andromeda smiled. "It was no problem. Lunch in an hour, boys." She said. "Thanks, Gran." Teddy said. His grandmother nodded and walked off. Teddy turned to Charles, excitement clear on his face. "Now come on, let's go play Quidditch!" he announced and they raced downstairs.
A/N: I know the first chapter's short, I promise I'll write more for the next chapter. Anyone want a Katherine POV chapter?
