Luna Lovegood and the Look into the Life
It was a bright, sunny day. I was in the greenhouse for my free period, looking for some Bouncing Bluebells and Sopophorous Beans. Hagrid was showing the hippogriffs to the class of nervous third years outside. I had a horrible feeling. I looked over to find a blibbering humdinger hanging near Draco Malfoy's head.
"Oh, no." Something unlucky was going to happen. And there it was! Oh! She felt horrible, being able to See these 'creatures' and know what would happen but not prevent it. It was like that fool, Lockhart, and the possessed Ginny. And when Luna looked at Harry Potter, she saw snatches of his past, his future, his destiny. Poor Harry!
It was the same reason that she never bothered with Cho, Marietta, and all of the others. They were just jealous, after all. Her butterbeer cork necklace, like a diadem, was absolutely beautiful. They were really the most envious about Luna's lovely, golden curls. After all, she did take good care of her hair. But there they were now!
"Hey, Loony." Cho sneered. Ouch. Luna bit back a wince. Oh how she wished that Cho wouldn't do that. It made her look constipated!
"Yeah, Loony." chimed Marietta. Not again! They were like robots! I wished that her head wasn't so full of Wrackspurts. It was almost as much as Hermione Granger! I accidentally let out a soft sigh.
"Hey! Loony. Where are all of your clothes now?" I looked at Cho. They must have dragged my trunk out and stolen everything in it.
"Gone, now." I say. There was no doubt of that. I'll just ask the ghost of the Grey Lady to help me find my things.
They laughed. Eurgh! I involuntarily scrunched up my nose. It sounded nasal. Cringing, I turned my back on them to clip another leaf off my plant. Then, I grabbed my bag, and left, slipping out the side door, back onto the grounds, it's time for transfiguration.
I went inside the classroom, still brooding about Cho and Marietta, what to do, what to do? I really didn't like them. But what prank? Well, nothing with 'sneak', that'd be in fourth year. She giggled. A few people stared at her, but they just didn't understand. But still, no-one really liked or understood her. The only one who was actually a little nice to her was Ginny. They all had so many Wrackspurts!
" , will you please transfigure this beetle?" Professor McGonagall looked down at her with a faint hint of irritation in her tone.
"Of course, professor." She focused on turning the beetle into a button, letting her magic flow out of her wand. Voicing the incantation, she waited. Then, in the palm of her hand, what used to be an ordinary black beetle was now-
"A black button with a Ravenclaw house crest with the Diadem of Ravenclaw on top," Professor McGonagall murmured. "10 points to Ravenclaw, very impressive Ms. Lovegood."
I smiled, already creating more buttons with Hogwarts, Crumple Horned Snorkacks, and Rowena Ravenclaw emblazoned across them. Perhaps it wasn't such a bad day after all.
