Leo and Nyssa sat in Bunker Nine, fiddling with Archideme's spheres and gossiping. Yes, gossiping. She was a girl and he was gay. It was only to be expected.
"So Leo." Nyssa said as she consulted Archideme's notes. "How's it going with Nico? I wanna know all about your relationship." Leo blushed and looked down. "What do you mean, Nys? What's to know?" Nyssa only grinned at the embarrassed look on his face. "No need to get embarrassed, Valdez. I'm just concerned about my little brother. And don't blush so much. You might set your self aflame again." Leo only blushed harder as he rembered the incident. "I think I love him, Nyssa. I really mean it." Nyssa smiled fondlly at her little brother. "Yeah," she said. "I know the feeling." They comtinued to work in silence for a while, only speaking to examine a vague word or picture in the notes.
"Hey Leo? Can I talk to you for a minute?" Leo looked up from the Archideme's ball he was tinkering with to see his boyfriend standing in the doorway of Bunker Nine. He smiled softly. "Sure, baby. I'll be right back, Nyssa." His sister nodded and waved him away.
"What's up, Nico?" he asked, taking the younger boy's hand. Nico fidgeted nervously, blushing lightly. "Well, uh.. Damn." the son of Hades closed his eyes and took a deep breath. He opened his eyes and in the Stygian pools, Leo saw a fierce determination. "Look, Leo. You know I love you, and I really hope you love me too. You are everything to me. That time on the Argo II you saved me from myself. When you told me how you felt, you made me truly feel for the first time. And what a feeling it was-it still is. WHat I'm trying to say is that I love you and I want to be with you forever." At this Leo dropped down to one knee. "Leo Valdez, will you marry me?"
Leo gaped at his boyfriend in shock. When the words finally sank in his face broke into a wide grin. He threw his arms around Nico and kissed him, pouring as much love into it as he could. When he pulled back, Nico smirked. "I take it that's a yes then?" Leo nodded fiercely and kissed him again.
Later, as they were strolling through the strawberry fields, Leo turned to Nico and asked" When we get married, will I be Leo Valdangez?"
