Disclaimer: I do not own Percy Jackson and the Olympians

A/N: I will be re-writing this story. I didn't really like the way it turned out, even though I tried rewriting it like twice, but I started this story in 2012, and I really want to finish it.

Third Person's Point of View

Ancient Greece

"Ancient Greece, a land of many victories, many battles, laughs, smiles, but also much bloodshed, it was a place where anyone can call home, a place where anyone could truly understand one another. But hatred is a vicious cycle, one that harbors pain, and from pain, hatred is born, wars are unleashed among mankind, loved ones are lost and from love comes sacrifice, and from sacrifice, pain gives way into people's hearts, and from that, more and more hatred is brought upon us. Pain is a never ending cycle, as long as there is evil within people, hatred for one another will continue. The Gods are careless, they show no love, nor care for the world they live in, many worship them out of fear, out of fear of dying.

This is where our story starts.

A new day was born as the sun rose high up in the sky, birds chirped, the wind made the leaves slowly fall down one by one, the sky was a clear blue with no clouds, the sea was still as if it was waiting for something to happen very soon.

Sparks flew, two figures were interlocked in combat, both were about the same height and around the same weight, but their eyes were their most distinct features, the one on the right had jet black hair, that wasn't very long but nor was it very short, but he had bright sea green eyes that held no mercy, the one on the left had long blonde hair, unnerving ice blue eyes that would make anyone kneel before him. "You've done well today, Perseus."

The one named Perseus grinned, and swung his xiphos around until he rested it against his shoulder, his forehead glistened with sweat, his armor had was a bronze color that had wave designs with a big trident on the breastplate. "Couldn't have gotten to where I am today without you, Achilles."

"Indeed, are you ready?" Perseus sighed, "As much as I'll ever be, it's the moment where our names will forever be remembered forever in myths and stories." Achilles chuckled a little, "Good, Greece calls for us to help, even if it was because a pointless reason, to deny the call of Greece would a disgrace."

Perseus had a look of anger on his face, "But of course, it wouldn't be a war if those insolent gods didn't take place, this is all their fault in the first place! If only that slut of a goddess didn't have to make Paris choose, none of this would've happen, we could've avoided the bloodshed. The Gods will pay for their ignorance one or another."

A torrent of water interrupted their talking, and out came a beautiful women with a light shallow green eyes, her face held no wrinkles or blemishes, on top of her head rested a small crown made out of sea shells. Perseus' eyes immediately turned a lighter color and his scowling face turned into a much happier one.

"Hello Mother, how nice of you to visit us." Achilles walked over and wrapped his arms around his mother Thetis, "Any reason why're you're here?" Thetis didn't bother answering and only turned toward Perseus, "Oh come here, Perseus, are you going to keep me waiting?" Perseus laughed and walks towards her to hug his mother like figure that had looked after him alongside his mentor Achilles.

Achilles frowned, "You still haven't answered me, you wouldn't just come here without a reason."

Thetis changed her attention to him, her smiling face gave way to a more depressed one, "You know why I'm here, I don't want you two to fight, there has to be another way, you could say home, live happily, find a woman to marry, start a family, have children, but please don't go."

Achilles put his hands on her shoulders and looked into her eyes, "But we must, if we don't help Greece in its time of need now, when else are we going to help?" Thetis frowned, "I want you to know that I love you." She looked towards Perseus, "Both of you." She paused for a second to admire her son's face, as if it would be the last time she ever saw him, "Please come back to me alive."

With that she took a few steps back and disappeared in a splash of water, Perseus turned towards his mentor, "Do you think our reason for fighting will help us conquer Troy? All I see is a bunch of men fighting, risking their lives all for one woman."

Achilles laughed at his student's ignorance,"Perseus this is our chance, as you said, to be remembered to millennia, by millions as the ones that burned Troy to the ground, the gods already fear us, why not give them more of a reason to make them fear us even more?" Towards the end of his response, Achilles' face held a devilish smirk.

Perseus smiled, and raised his arm towards his mentor, "I can't do it alone, will you stand beside me?" Achilles grasped his forearm and nodded, a gentle smile on his face,

"Perseus you're like the brother I never had, I will always be by your side, as long as you want, and even if you don't, I'll still be beside you and If I were to ever die, I'll be watching over you."

Ω

Perseus stood on the beach, looked over the ocean at the thousands of ships docked in the harbor, angered at the fact that Agamemnon was an idiot for angering the gods, he cursed his luck. Thousands would die, millions would lose their loved one and many would be scarred for life.

He slowly made his way over to the black ship that was the farthest away from the normal triremes, the Myrmidon's ship. His mentor was waiting for him in the hull, and came out just as he came onto to the boat, mostly to be greeted by his fellow men.

Achilles grabbed a spear from a nearby man and slammed into onto the floor, and managed to get everyone's attention, "Today, we set sail towards Troy, today is the day we write history, today is the day we take our first step towards conquering Troy, are you with me, my brothers?" Cries of answers were heard from the men, Achilles smirked before turning his attention to his student, "We will not blindly follow a king like Agamemnon, we fight our own battles, will you help us get to Troy at a quicker pace?"

Not many knew that Perseus was a demigod son of Poseidon, no one knew who his mother was either, but only Achilles and the Myrmidons knew, that was one reason why they respected Perseus so much.

Perseus nodded, and waited for Agamemnon's signal for departure. Seconds turned to minutes as finally a loud horn blew and the ships raised their sails, at once Perseus opened his eyes and water around the ship started to push theirs at a much faster pace, and eventually their ship was the one leading the rest, "This should be good enough, it'll be quiet the show when Agamemnon sees his ship isn't the one leading the rest, oh how I'd love to watch his face turn red from frustration." Perseus started laughing along with the rest of the men on the ship after he was done talking.

Achilles turned towards them, "Now we wait." His gaze was set towards the horizon, trying to think of the possible outcomes of the war, wondering how it'd take, wondering just how his fate was supposed to play out.

Ω

The next morning, their ship was only minutes from Troy. Achilles and Perseus had woken only seconds apart from each other when one of their men had shouted out that they were close to land, and true to his word, they could see the walls of Troy standing proudly, "They won't be standing proudly when I burn it to the ground." Perseus whispered to himself."

Achilles had most of the men assembled on the main deck of the ship, getting them ready, Perseus turned and walked into his small room inside the ship he had shared with Achilles the night prior, and put his armor on, no weapon to pierce him anyways, it was his most treasured secret, one that he hoped no one would find about, his vulnerable spot was a small spot in the middle of his back only one his mother figure Thetis and his mentor Achilles knew about, and he had vowed to never tell anyone else, even if he trusted them, for he had come to learn that you could trust no one in this world, not even the people you call friends, not even the people you trust the most, not even yourself, but he knew that without Thetis and Achilles he wouldn't be where he was today.

Perseus got his armor on rather quickly, and looked at his sword, it was a gift from his father, the only gift he had received from Poseidon, in fact. It was a three foot blade that had a small emboss of a trident towards the lower part of the blade, it was a combination of celestial bronze and mortal steel, one that could kill both human and monsters alike.

Perseus felt their ship hit the sand and immediately rushed out his small room and jumped over the side of the ship and in a tight formation stood with his mentor and their men, and slowly made their say towards the walls of Troy, soon volleys of arrows came forth and their had to put their shield in front of them as their only way of protection, arrow after arrow got stuck on the shields as Perseus' excitement only grew.

The first ones to break out of the formation were Achilles and Perseus, "This is a disappointment." Perseus whispered to Achilles, who replied, "What did you expect? A large force of their army? This is only to see how many of us have decided to attack first." Perseus nodded and sped up towards the phalanx of Trojans that stood close to one another and drew his sword from it's sheath. The Trojans realized that only two members of the Greek army were charging against them, arrogance and pride took over and they charged.

Perseus threw his sword like a spear and watched as it embedded itself into the Trojan's chest, and watched as blood spilled, he grinned to himself, he had managed to get the first kill, but what he didn't know was that there were thousands more he had to kill. His sword had already returned to it's sheath, courtesy of his father. Perseus watched Achilles take on a large number of their men without trying, many already laid at his feet, dead.

Perseus swung left and right, killing whoever came his way, every once in awhile he would take his spear out to spear men from a far distance. The short battle only lasted for at most ten minutes, but to Perseus it was the most fun he had ever had, the Myrmidons had taken out about all of their forces instantly, the rest of the Greek ships were just reaching Trojan sands, and Agamemnon watched in rage at the carnage before him, this wasn't what he was trying to do, he wanted to watch Troy suffer, one by one.

Only a few were left and they started to run back towards the large gate that protected the civilians of Troy. The large gate opened to welcome them in before shutting close just as soon as it open, Perseus ran towards the altar that was deducted to Apollo, and angrily swung his sword towards the statue of Apollo and watched as the gold statue's head rolled onto the ground, the priestesses watched in horror at what he had done.

Achilles looked towards his men, "This is where we will set up our camp, do not attempt to try and draw their forces out." He looked into his men's faces and got a nod from each of them, and then turned to walk towards his student, and watched with a smile on his face as he helped a young girl to his feet.

Perseus' look change to a soft one as he held his hand outwards to the girl that was on the floor crying in front of him, her brunette hair was plastered against her forehead with sweat and her hair was dirty, her face was a light brown with eyes that changed color every few seconds, as if they were mirroring her emotions, Perseus brushed her hair out of her eyes and asked, "What's your name?"

The girl turned and spat in his face, "The gods will kill you, Apollo will come after you, you shouldn't have done what you did." Her angered face turned into a face of concern which left Perseus confused.

Perseus looked at the girl's outfit, her white gown was dirty, she had a necklace with small hearts, as if she spent her entire life praying to the love goddess, "You're a priestess? Why do you respect the gods so much?"

The girl looked into his eyes, "There is no reason, it's what we have to do, the gods will make our living and our suffering easier, and all we have to do is pray and worship them."

Perseus laughed, "If you respect the gods so much, then why respect Ares? He lives for war, for the blood of the innocent, he's the epitome of war. The gods have done nothing for you, all they've caused is suffering and turmoil, they only think of us as puppets, only to do their bidding and when they're done with us, they throw us away, think of us like their toys. I kill to protect my loved ones, the amount of people Ares and the rest of the gods have killed are a much larger number than the ones that I've killed."

The girl didn't say anything, her hair was a messy and her eyes were beautiful each time he looked into them, he sighed, "Atleast tell more your name."

The girl dried her tears, and responded, "Piper."

Perseus continued looking into her eyes and sighed and lowered his head, "The gods envy us. We're all humans, we all have a set amount of time we can live, we all experience pain and tragedy, we're all doomed to die, but they don't. They're stuck living forever while we have a thing called death, that's inevitable, that's why the gods envy and hate us, they will never experience what we have, nor will they ever. Now do you understand why I have no love for the Gods? They've done nothing but bring me pain."

Perseus grabbed her arm and gently helped her to stand up, "My name is Perseus, you can stay as long as you want, but I'd advise you not to leave, or else the rest of the men would want something, or someone to play with." He noticed the girl's look of horror before saying, "As long as you stay with me, no harm will come to you, you have my word. If anyone touched you, I will kill them, ally or enemy."

The girl smiled a small one, before following him. He noticed that he was about a head taller than her petite frame, but he smiled when he saw that she wouldn't leave. Perseus led the girl to the tents the Myrmidons had set up just minutes earlier, "You can stay in here, I will be putting a few men in front of the tent to guard it if any of Agamemnon's men try to come in, I'll be back shortly."

Perseus trudged slowly to the beach that was close to his tent and looked at the amount of ships that were docked and sighed, he wouldn't even be able to enjoy his moment of peace.

He made his way towards the tents before noticing his mentor was talking with a woman in his tent that had a small tiara on her messy hair. Perseus chuckled before turning to the left to go to his tent. When he walked in the girl was fast asleep, so he went over to brush her hair out from her eyes, she looked so calm and so at peace with herself, and right at the moment he vowed that if there was a chance to obtain peace in the world he lived in, that he'd seize it.

"I love Helen with all my heart, nothing you can do will ever take her away from me, Menelaus!" The youngest prince of Troy shouted.

"If you will not hand over her, I will do it myself boy!" He raised his sword into the air and yelled, "Attack!"

"Stop!, there must be another way to solve this, we could avoid bloodshed. If Paris fights with one of your men, and defeats him, you will withdraw all of your forces from our land and will never try to claim this land as yours again!" This time it was the oldest prince of Troy that spoke.

"Heh, what will I get out of this you insolent boy?" Menelaus grunted.

"We will gladly hand over Helen back to you." Hector stated with no emotion.

"Send your little prince out then! If Troy decides to neglect their agreement and does not agree to the rules, then by all means, I will burn this city to the ground!" Menelaus raised his arm once again, and looked to his right to Perseus,

"Perseus! Go on, finish this, for Greece." Perseus drew his sword and stepped out from behind the lines, and walked over to the shaking prince, he could see the fear in his eyes, and charged, the prince could barely defend himself, It seemed as though Perseus was only toying with him, he wasn't even trying to main him, only hitting him with the end of his sword before laughing each time the prince fell onto the ground, "Is this what Troy has to offer? You would've thought that a prince would be more skilled... Get up."

Out of anger Paris blindly charged at him only to be pushed to the ground, but his anger only fueled his rage, Perseus jumped out of the way and swung his feet from under him and put his foot on to his chest before stabbing Paris in his thigh and smiling slightly at his screaming, his brother Hector could only watch in misery as his younger brother on the verge of death. "Get up."

Perseus took off his helmet and threw it onto the ground before tossing his shield down as well, the prince tried to stand as blood came rushing out from his leg, blood marred his face, his eyebrow was cut open and blood trickled down his mouth, his nose looked a little crooked after getting hit in the face so much from Perseus' sword. "Enough playing games my dear Prince."

Perseus snarled at him before running towards him and jumped,Mersey to impale him before he was knocked backwards when Hector threw a spear at him which bounced immediately off his chest plate which many were surprised at, but the force behind it sent him stumbling a few steps backwards, enough for Hector to grab his brother and run into the safety of Troy, before coming back on top of a horse seconds later, and bowed his head, "I am very sorry for what I've done, but I couldn't just let my only brother die."

Menelaus raised his finger towards Hector in anger, "You have not followed through with your end of the deal Hector, you shall pay for this!"

The moment he brought his hand down, he motioned for his entire army to attack, both armies collided in a mass heap of weapons, bodies were littered everywhere, body parts laid in blood, the Trojans were quick to retreat, Hector was the last one to step foot into Troy before raising his head towards Perseus, and noticed his cold gaze and he could see clearly that he would kill him and Paris the next time they met.

Ω

The moon was high in the sky when Perseus came back to his tent to see Piper wide awake waiting for his return, when she saw him walk in, she immediately stood up and walked walk to him, to find him covered in blood, "Why do you have to kill people?" She looked like she was close to tears.

Perseus walked to the fountain that was in the corner of his room and dried his hands after washing them to get rid of the blood, and then walked over to Piper until he was only an inch or two apart from her and took her face in between his hands, and grazed his thumb over her cheek, before speaking, "I have no choice, it's either me, or them. If I don't kill them first, they'll eventually kill me or my brother in arms, and I won't stand around while that happens."

Piper nodded sadly, sighed, "Will I ever be able to go back home?"

Perseus raised his eyebrow and then nodded sadly, "If you want, I can take you home personally after the war is over, but who knows how long it'll last, or you could leave anytime you want, as long as you have a safe and far away place you can go." He said the last part softly as if indicating her that he didn't want her to leave him, but she didn't seem to pick up what he was trying to say and her mood immediately brightened,

"Really? You'd let me go home?"

Perseus nodded, "If that is what you truly want, I'm not holding you back, just wait until it's a little safer to go out." Piper nodded and turned her back towards him and went to sit on the bed, "Thank you once again for letting me stay with you."

Perseus could only nod as the moonlight shined through the tent and bit Piper's face, illuminating her face even more so, that's when Perseus decided that Piper was truly a beautiful girl.

Ω

Troy

The sun had risen well above the horizon and stood high up in the sky, blood was splattered across the sand and the dead bodies were brought into each camp to burn with the correct traditions.

Agamemnon's rage was sensed throughout the entire camp, his bellows of anger and frustration and his vow to burn Troy to the ground was heard every few minutes. His anger was also directed at Perseus and his mentor, for not listening to his orders and attacking head on with no backup, he believed that with the entirety of his army on Troy grounds, he could've eliminated most of the enemy and taken over Troy. But most only laughed at his arrogance, a city like Troy wouldn't fall in a day.

Later on, Perseus had met the woman inside of his mentor's tent, Briseis. She was quite a beautiful woman, despite her dirty and messy hair that covered most of her face, but also found out that she was King Priam's niece, that brought a smile onto his face, if anything happened to his mentor, he wouldn't mind killing her in front of her entire family and kingdom.

When Perseus woke up, it was just a few minutes before the sun would come up, so he only had a few minutes to gather his thoughts before the entire camp would wake up and go on with their daily actives, he shook his head sadly at the thought that many more men would die today.

He turned his head towards the side to see the girl, Piper, sleeping a few feet away from him, in the opposite corner of the tent, her hair was in her face again and her hands were resting on top of her stomach, a thin ray of sunlight from the opening of the tent hit her face and Perseus could see how angelic she looked whilst sleeping, with no worries, with no fears, it seemed as though she was immortal, forever in comfort, to never wake up from her slumber, but all good things come to an end. The ray of light that hit her face woke her up, she rose from her bed slightly to rub her eyes with the palms of her hands, all while Perseus was watching her.

Perseus didn't really understand why he was helping her, why he was giving her shelter, nor did he understand why she was so nice him, a merciless killer. She finally realized that he had woken up as well and stared at him and unbeknownst to him, similar thoughts were going through her mind as well.

Perseus snapped out of his daydreaming, "Good morning, did you sleep well?"

Piper smiled a little to show that she was grateful, and her eyes turned a slight shade of hazel, "Thank you for everything, without you, I would've been killed, or worse." Her face had darkened considerably when she was finished.

Perseus sighed and got up, his armor was on a stand waiting for him, cleaned, most likely by one of his men, and his sword was sheathed as well, he moved over to the stand to get ready, the armor barely had and dents in it, the Trojan army could barely touch him, the only slight indent he could see was a slight one, where Hector had thrown a spear at him, the indent was directly over his heart. Had he been normal, he would've died that day. Once he was finished putting his armor on, he grabbed his sword and turned towards Piper who had turned her face away after seeing his body, though his body was muscular, it wasn't overly muscular to be repulsive.

"Are you hungry?" His voice was soft when he asked her, Piper stared into his eyes, not believing that he was going to give her food, but when she realized that he wasn't kidding, she nodded her head enthusiastically.

Perseus smiled and walked towards the tent flap and gestured for the man standing in front to send over two plates of food. "I want you to know that when this is all over, I want you to go back to your homeland, forget that you even met me, forget all the memories that war brings." By the time he was finished, he was sitting next to her and held her hand in his, but before she could answer, a tall man brought in two plates of food, mainly fruit.

Before he left, he whispered into Perseus' ear, "Sir, we've spotted a large force of the Trojan army marching towards our location, Agamemnon and the rest of the Kings have already assembled their forces and will be moving out soon. Sir Achilles has said for us to wait and watch, what are your thoughts sir?" Perseus nodded, "He's right, we'll wait, get ready though, we'll be watching how Agamemnon and his pathetic army get annihilated without our help, there's a large enough cliff close by to watch over the entire battle, station the men on top of that location, I'll be with you shortly."

The man nodded before bowing his head and walking out if the door. Perseus turned towards Piper and lowered his eyes, "I'll see you later Piper."

Without even waiting for her reply, he walked out the war, and started walking over to his men, when his men saw him coming towards them, they immediately straightened. "I'm not going to be Agamemnon's lap dog, he can fight his own battles and well see how far that takes him, no one will interfere, understood?" A chorus of different answers were given but Perseus didn't see his mentor giving him a proud look.

Ω

The Myrmidons peered down upon both the Trojans and Greeks, both armies were staring at each other, neither side wanted to be the first to attack, but arrogance has it's downfall, Agamemnon knew he had more men than the opposing side, charged.

Perseus smirked, only a fool would do that. The Trojans raised their shields and put their spears in front of them to impale the Greek soldiers that were running towards them. Not even seconds into the battle, the entire battle ground was doused heavily in a shower of blood, limbs laid on the ground, some soldiers had abandoned their duty to bend over and throw up which caused the enemy to finish them off.

Cries of agony was heard, some silently crying for the friends they had lost, others fearing that they would never return home, never to see their wives and their children again, while others accepted their death and moved on.

Perseus shook his head sadly at the carnage that unfolded before him, had it been years ago, he also would've bent over and thrown up, but the amount of kills he had under his belt and the experience of killing people in cold blood at left him in a spot where he no longer could throw up, all he could do was watch sadly.

Perseus unsheathed his sword and took a few steps forwards and without turning around he said, "What you see before you is nothing but a stupid and pointless war that we could've have avoided, but in the end, it was inevitable." he took a few more steps forward until he was at the tip of the cliff, "I believe it's time we helped out." He turned towards his mentor and smiled, "Don't you think?" with that, he jumped off and made his way towards the onslaught.

It only took him a few seconds to reach the Trojans because of his adrenaline pumping through his veins, he wanted to feel blood on his sword, he wanted to end the fighting with just his blade, he fought of Trojans one by one, it seemed as though he was nothing but a droplet of water, moving at speed that most couldn't and wouldn't be able to reach, the ground rumbled with each step he took, throwing the Trojans off balance.

Agamemnon turned his head when he felt the vibrations take place, just moments ago his army was getting destroyed by the Trojans, how could one man change the tide of the war? It didn't make sense to him.

But suddenly Perseus saw a bright red aura that covered a wide radius before coming to a dim lit red light, in front of him stood a large man well over eight feet tall, which would be unusual for a normal human to be that tall, he had bulging muscles, and scars all over his body, but Perseus immediately recognized the man in front of him when he saw the bright red eyes of the man that seemed like he had fire in them, and felt an immense hatred for the man in front of him, but then again he was no ordinary man, it was the god of war himself.

No one but himself took notice of the man, who came towards him with a large shield and broadsword. "You've broken the law, not surprising, I was wondering when you all would take part in the war. It wouldn't be surprising either if more of you decided to join in." Perseus had a small smirk on his face, it was time he fought someone well above the normalities of a normal warrior. "Have you gods stooped this low? Have you forgotten about your laws that forbid you from interfering with mortals? But yet, you use us as pawns over and over again. I don't see a god in front of me, what I see is someone who has lived far too long and should be killed, what I see is a pathetic excuse of a god that can't do anything but interfere. You're no god Ares, I think it's time I've proved this to you."

The war god stood still, his muscles tensing at his apparent rage at the words he just heard, from a demigod, no less. How foolish did this boy think he was, he thought. His anger clouded his thought process, all he wanted to do was kill the boy standing in front of him. By now, everyone could see the man but no one knew who the man was, Achilles looked towards his student with a worried look.

Ares charged at Perseus with such a speed that it almost looked like he was a red blur, and smashed into Perseus who was pushed several feet backwards but his instincts and trained eye sight helped him evade the man's monstrous strength by putting his shield in front of him which was also a gift from his father, and slightly dented the metal, he cursed noting that it'd be useless trying to fight Ares with just strength, he racked his brain, thinking of several possibilities on how to defeat him, until he finally smirked.

Upon seeing Perseus smirk, the war god truly let his bloodlust control him and charged once again, but all Perseus did was dodge over and over and over again, he could see the slight layer of sweat starting to form on the war god's body and smiled.

Now all he had to do was wait. Perseus fainted to his left while using his powers made the earth rumble once again, the war god lost his footing for a slight half a second but that's all Perseus needed before stabbing his sword into the part where the breastplate connected with the rest of the armor and slightly twisted his sword, the sweat that had formed on Ares' body started making its way towards Perseus' sword and became absorbed, the god started laughing at his futile attempt before stopping mid-laugh, a sheet of ice had completely frozen the left side of his body in place.

The war god roared in anger before his eyes turned black and a black cloud came out, and materialized in the shape of figure, only it's teeth were visible, which were jagged and sharp, the rest of his body was covered with white wrapping, and he whispered in a raspy voice, "Did you really think you could kill me? Nothing you can do will stop me! You can't kill me!" He moved towards Perseus at a slow pace, like it seemed like he had trouble walking, "There will be a time, when nothing you will do work Perseus! Nothing! There will be a day when I kill all of your loved ones."

The figure disappeared, it seemed as though it was nothing but a spirit, but it made Perseus' blood run cold. The body of the war god was still trapped in ice, Perseus stabbed him in anger until the tip of his sword came out his back, before, despite Ares being unconsciousness, he threw up gold ichor all over Perseus' armor.

Perseus would've stopped and took his time to relish in the fact that he was able to defeat a god, even if he wasn't himself most of the time and even if he was trapped halfway in ice, but a horn blowing snapped him back into reality, he recognized it, it was a retreat signal on behalf of the Trojans.

Perseus saw his mentor over a body, and from a distance seemed as though he was crying silent tears, and with anger he saw his mentor draw his sword and looked at the oldest prince of Troy with anger in his eyes. Hector looked back with an empathic gaze, "I am truly sorry, he looked just like you. If I had known then I would've been honored to have killed the one named Achilles."

"There is no honor in fighting someone to he death without knowing their name first, prince of Troy. This was your first mistake, second thinking that you of all people would be able to defeat me. I can see your future already, and that future is death" Achilles took his sword from the now dead body of Patroclus and made his way towards Hector. His men tried to stop him but all Hector did was raise his arm and told them to stop. Most men were still frozen in fear from they had seen previously.

Hector's entire family was seen worrying about him, Priam was trying to comfort his wife, telling that he wouldn't just leave her and their newborn son. But even the wise king of Troy knew his son had no chance against the likes of Achilles and could watch only in sadness in what was about to come.

To match Achilles, Hector had taken off most of the armor, if he died, he'd die fighting for the right cause. "If one of us were to die, let us give them the honor and bury them with the right rituals." Achilles looked impassively at him before answering him, "You should've thought about that before killing my only cousin."

He ran towards Hector and swipe his sword at him but Hector brought his shield up to counter it, his shield was one of the things he had not dropped, but the impact left a large dent in the shield and it soon became useless.

Achilles' onslaught continued, Hector was barely able to keep up with him. Having dropped his sword to the ground moments earlier, Hector had taken out the spear that had been strapped to his back, only for it to be broken by Achilles seconds later and he felt the sharp tip of the spear impale his shoulder and let out a cry of pain, Achilles didn't bother to give him a moments rest, having lost all respect for the prince in front of him. Achilles looked at Hector while he was on his knees and sneered, and stabbed his sword through his stomach.

Achilles looked towards the royal family before hefting the now dead body of Hector over his soldier and walked over to the side the Greeks were on, he saw Agamemnon and Menelaus' grins of approval and ignored them and walked towards am empty carriage and tied the legs of the fallen prince's on the back side and turned around and let the horses pull him forward with Hector's dead body being dragged towards the camp, Perseus looked towards the royal family to see them burst into tears.

If only Paris hadn't of stolen Helen, if only the gods hadn't interfered, none of this would've happened, his glare increased as he turned it towards the skies and thunder rumbled and lit up the sky.

After seeing the dead body of Hector coming into the camp, Briseis had slapped Achilles multiple times before spitting in his face leaving the tent and decided to make her way back towards the kingdom of Troy, Achilles had been saddened at her betrayal before realizing that he had only kept her by his side in cause things had gone out of hand.

Perseus put a hand on his mentor's shoulder and sighed, he had many things to think about, one was about what that thing that had whispered to him was. It's raspy voice still echoed in his mind. "I think it's best for both of us to get some sleep, we've both had a long day." The sun had already set and the rest of the men were starting to pack and go to sleep. Achilles nodded his head and they both departed.

Perseus stepped into his tent to see that the girl was already sleeping and he silently made his way towards his own bed, mourning for the loss of Patroclus and he slept as soon as he laid down, but his dreams were the ones that truly scared him. Perseus found himself in a deserted place, with no visible signs of life.

He heard something making his way towards him from behind and turned around to see the exact same thing he had encountered that very day. It's jagged and sharp teeth and the white wrappings around it, and he couldn't help but wonder what it was. "Perseus." It sounded like a snake talking, with the way it said the s in Perseus' name, but it's voice was raspy as ever. "What does everyone have, but no one can lose?" Perseus stood still thinking on how to answer it, but nothing came to his mind that was a possible answer.

The thing in front of him had the shape of a man, that was about as tall as Perseus. It made a complete circle around Perseus and still continued walking around him, "Answer me, Perseus. If you can't, all of your friends will die." The way he said his last word, made Perseus know for a fact that he wouldn't hesitate to kill his friends.

Perseus woke up, the raspy voice still echoing in his mind, it's laughter causing him to want to kill it even more.

King Priam had walked into what could've been his death, asking for Achilles to return his son. The king had begged and even got on his knees pleading for his son to be returned to receive his burial rights.

"Very well, if you honestly think that by coming here, you could evade the inevitable? You may have your son's body back, yes, but no way will I let your city stay unharmed for the next seven days out of respect. I would have granted such request if your son had not been the main reason why I lost someone very important to me."

The King had tears flowing down his face and repeatedly kissed Achilles' knuckles in an attempt to say thank you, but Achilles had yanked his arm backwards and his face turned into one of disgust, "A King of your caliber shouldn't bow down to me." He got on his knees and helped the king to his feet, "You're more than a king Agamemnon could only hope to be."

Perseus didn't know that this would be the last day for war, for pointless killing, he was happy it'd end but he didn't know the price he'd have to pay. After days of continuous bloodshed, the Greeks made the Trojans believe that Poseidon had taken his anger out on the Greeks, and gave them a horse made out of wood. But in fact, Perseus had personally prayed to his father for the war to stop.

Odysseus was a clever man, a king of his own kingdom Ithaca, the fact that since one couldn't burn Troy to the ground from the outside had quickly been realized, but with enough thought, he had spent days thinking that if he couldn't burn Troy from the outside, why not from the inside?

Perseus had asked for his ideas and Odysseus had shown him the figure of a horse he had carved out from wood for his son back home and both of them had smiled, the very next morning the Greeks with the help of Poseidon had built a large enough wooden horse that could fit all of them inside it without a problem, but most didn't realize that Poseidon had been helping them. The plan was to burn the city to the ground from the inside when all of Troy was asleep. The Greeks along with Achilles and Perseus had taken shelter inside the large wood horse.

"I say we should burn it to the ground." A Trojan soldier said in a deep voice.

"The mighty god of the seas has helped us in our time of weakness and has helped us get rid of the Greeks! How can we dishonor a god like this by not accepting his gift?" Another soldier voiced his thoughts.

A chorus of approvals rung from the crowd of Trojans gathered, they had tied their ropes on the horse and started pushing and pulling it inch by inch to their city, which had a large festival thrown for the defeat of the Greeks and the generous help of a could only silently laugh at these fools, they had already thought they had own without even making sure they did.

When nighttime came, ropes were thrown out from the inside of the horse and one by one the soldiers dropped, Perseus and Achilles ran side by side to the royal family house, he had a score to settle with Paris. He turned around to see that the Greeks had already started burning the city down and throwing sleeping citizens and soldiers out from their small houses into the middle of the street for the mass murder to commence, he heard the agony filled screams of people dying and being burnt alive.

He could only grimace at the brutality. Perseus ran into the courtyard to see the young prince shooting arrow after arrow and their eyes met, but he decided he'd take care of the prince later, for now, he had a few temples to burn. He could almost feel the moon glowing brighter and it's luminosity threshing to blind him when he destroyed the moon goddess Artemis' temple, he smirked, one temple down.

He would've planned on destroyed more temples and angering gods when he heard a scream that echoed in his ears, and he rushed back towards the courtyard to see Briseis in the arms of his mentor, softly whispering to each other that it would be okay. It happened so fast that it seemed as though Perseus was in slow motion, a gold arrow flew towards Achilles and all Perseus could do was watch as it ripped through Achilles' left heel and the bloody arrow tip came out from the other looked to see Briseis with an arrow wound in her abdomen as well, in an attempt to block the first arrow that had come towards Achilles.

Achilles knew his life force was slowly coming to an end and raised his head and looked over at his student and smiled, the last smile he'd ever see from his father figure, but that smile got wiped off his face when more arrows were shot and got embedded along his let rage consume him and ran towards Paris and jumped from across the railing to stand behind Paris, Paris froze when he felt the tremendous amount of power rolling off of Perseus.

Perseus yanked the bow from his hands and the color immediately went back to a dull brown, and he knew then and there that the Olympians had yet again interfered with his life and took away the only person that understood him. In an act of revenge Perseus swung his blade and watched as Paris tried to run away but he couldn't and watched as his head rolled and rolled and rolled away from his body until the dismembered head stopped inches away from his feet Perseus rushed towards his mentor to see Briseis touching the side of his face and Achilles brushing her hair with his shaking fingers, and stopped when Perseus came over.

Achilles turned towards his student and in a soft voice, "There will always be a time when someone's life comes to an end, don't think of this as me living Perseus, for I'll be in your heart and looking after you. When one's life comes to an end, something else is born. Don't wallow in your misery Perseus, think of this as my final lesson to you. Get rid of the revenge within your heart, a road filled with revenge isn't a road you wish to take, when you finally get your revenge, you'll be nothing. Find a purpose in life, find love, live a happy one. Become the warrior and leader you were supposed to be, create your own legacy." Perseus watched with tears in his eyes and listened to the final words of his mentor, he'd never seen him again.

With those final words, both Achilles and Briseis fell to the ground dead, with their arms around one another. Perseus slowly stood up and made his way towards the main gate where most of the Greek Army was, and he finally let all his anger out. He slammed his swords blade into the ground under him and a green trident made out of mist, almost like a hologram was seen before disappearing and his eyes glowed bright green, before gallons and gallons of water came rushing in from all directions and a torrent of water was around him as he destroyed the city of Troy and let his anger fuel his powers.

The people who had not died yet were killed instantly from the pressure of the water, when he felt he couldn't keep the water going anymore, he stopped and the water instantly evaporated away, leaving the Greeks to stare at him in a mixture of fear and awe. He turned his attention towards Agamemnon, "Get your troops out of here, you've accomplished your goal. The city of Troy is no more."The king could only stare and nod.

Days had passed and Perseus couldn't help but feel empty, he had lost the most important person to him, the one that raised and trained him, and he walked slowly towards the large altar the Greeks had constructed, in a final way of respect for Achilles, they had placed him on the top, with his sword in his arms and his armor on as well, he had a drachma on each eye, and another one under his tongue, as tribute for Charon to give him passage into the underworld.

He walked slowly up the pathway they had created to lead towards the top and picked up a torch along the way, he stood a few inches away from his mentor and stared at his face one last time before throwing the torch on his body, which caught on fire immediately. He had tears streaming down his face as he walked down, and whispered to himself, "Let them know that I lived in the time of Hector, protector of Troy. Let them know that I lived in the time of hatred, and let them know that I lived in the time of Achilles, the one who carried his sword with honor."
