There was very little conflict in him now, and he almost felt a little abandoned. But worries could confuse and tangle him up, and he had confirmed they had been very unpleasant to him. And so he was grateful, really. To the god who had slipped softly through the night to him. Who had found him shivering in the warm darkness, and taken it all away.

Peace should not be broken by the worries of the others, buzzing around him. There was a place and a purpose for him, and that was all. Kneeling beside his satisfied god – he was complete, and completely happy. He could hardly be anything else, in the proper, most privileged place of the juunishi rat.
