The Dog Days

"What lies behind us and what lies ahead of us are tiny matters compared to what lives within us." - Henry David Thoreau

title of the chapter: As He Arrives
prompt: A: ahead
featuring: Merlin
set: Episode 1.01, The Dragon's Call

Having left Ealdor behind, as Merlin advances through the forests, hills and valleys that embellish his journey, he already misses the life he used to have. Merlin knew the tiny and peaceful Ealdor like the back of his hand. His mother, an angel, was the entirety of his family, which was small in quantity but never causing a bit of ennui. And everything else he left behind was no different when the question was how much he longed for them.

Catching the first sight of the tallest buildings of his destination merely signifies that the line which separates his life as ante-Camelot and post-Camelot has been drawn. And little does he know about the destiny that lies ahead of him.
