The Answering Kiss

Snow falls
To the ground
And muffles
The sound
Of footfalls
As they creep
Up behind me,
And his arms
Wrap around me,
As he whispers
In my ear
What he knows
I wish to hear.
And slowly I
Spin around
To wrap my arms
Around his waist.
Then I stand on tiptoe
So I may softly speak
The words in reply.
And his answering kiss
Brings with it bliss,
As if in reply
To the words I have uttered
That hold the world.
"I love you too"
Means more
Then "I love you"
For it shows that
The feelings you hold
So close are returned.
Just four small words
Hold the world's bliss
In the answering kiss.
