The Wand Chooses the Wizard…

Prologue

Lily Potter sat in a fold up chair in the corner of Ollivander's shop. Ollivander had died a decade before during the second wizard war against the death eaters, but the shop still continued just like in the old days. Ollivander had a nephew in America who was his apprentice over summer holidays before Ollivander had passed, and he had inherited the shop. Lily was watching Albus wave around wand, after wand, after wand, after wand… she was board out of her mind as she watched, jealously. Her brother finally found the perfect wand. Oak, Griffin talon, 10 inches. James was leaning against a wall in the corner, arms crossed over his chest, smirking. Her parents were all over Al, congratulating him on finding such a nice wand. He had a smile stretching from ear to ear on his face as he stared at the beautiful wand resting in his hands.

The new Mr. Ollivander strode over to Albus to tell him all about the wands past and what it stood for. Lilly, cast her gaze out the window across the street to look at Flourish and Blotts. She loved going there with her mum and shopping for new books to read. Looking at it and imagining the adventure she'd have trying to help search for James' books, while trying to escape the scene going on behind her, but she couldn't seem to erase it from her head.

That was when Lilly saw them. They didn't stand out too much, they were relatively normal. Really it was just the girl. She was about nine years old, just like Lily. She was trailing behind three older brothers and an older sister. She had a pout not unlike Lily's thrown across her face, and she looked clearly upset. Her head was thrown back in defiance and her high pony tail was swinging back and forth as she walked. The end of her plaid kilt was being scrunched into a little ball in her tight grasp. One of the older boys next to her put a hand on her shoulder and said something that roughly looked like it's just two years, then you get to go, too. Lily was use to that look and smirked with the familiarity of the scene unfolding in front of her. Apparently Lily wasn't the only one who didn't like being the last one in the family to get to go to Hogwarts.

That's the prologue. The next two chapters are going to be catching you up to where the story begins in Lily's fourth year.
