Over breakfast they all spoke of their summers. How great they were, the temptations, the missed friends, and most of all missed loves. David stayed quiet and just made mental notes of what everyone did so he could use it against them eventually. When it came Scott's turn to speak he started talking about seeing his old football friends, the people at his old school, getting to know his dad better, and most of all a hole in his heart because Shelby wasn't near him.
They all cooed at the sound of pure feeling in his voice. Shelby just blushed and looked away, hoping that no one saw it.
Daisy talked about the beach with her aunt and uncle. She only went home once, and that was for her dad's birthday. She didn't want to go, he had forgotten her's, so she tried to just forget him. But, her aunt being her dad's sister insisted that they make the trip. She told everyone how much better he looked since he started AA meetings. She felt rather distressed around him. He was doing much better without her or her mother being there. That made Daisy want to leave that much sooner.
Ezra spoke of weeks with his mom and weekends with his dad. Everything seemed to have worked out. Neither parents started fights with the other, well, as far as Ezra could see. He felt halfway normal. He spoke of how his old friends tried to get him to agree to get high. He had been so close to actually doing it. He resisted though, and was very proud of himself.
Aggie and Juliet told every one of trips to see each other. They met about twice a week. They were so in love and it showed. They sat so close together. He played with strands of her hair while she intertwined her fingers with his. Juliet was a giggling mess.
It was getting all too sweet for David. He sat there staring vacently at everyone who opened their mouths. He knew no one liked him. He almost has something with Daisy last term but that didn't work out. Well, he thought, if no ones likes me I might as well give them more reasons to do so. I wonder how man I can get to LOATHE me. He knew who to start bugging right away. He decided to bring to attention a few things about the summer he had witnessed.
He decided to speak up while everyone was listening, especially Shelby. "Yo Scott, man, who was the hottie by your side this summer if it wasn't Shelby? Damn that girl was FINE!"
