Albus Severus sat in the train compartment, a little less nervous than he originally was. On looking around, he saw two boys sharing the compartment with him. "Heya, aren't you Harry potter's son?" said one of the boys. "Yeah, but my other name's Albus Severus," he replied. The boys laughed at his wit and exchanged glances. Satisfied that his first acquaintances found him amusing Albus looked outside the window.
Just then they heard a loud sound and a girl walked in apparently she had slammed her trunk against the door. She smiled apologetically and sat next to Albus. "Umm... Hi..," she said and looked at the other three, "I'm Hilary Longbottom!" One of the boys widened his eyes, "You're Professor Longbottom's daughter! Hi, I'm Mclaggen, Xeno Mclaggen ..." On looking closely at Xeno, Albus noticed he had blue eyes and quite a handsome face. He had dirty blonde hair, untidily ruffled at odd angles and pale blue eyes. He was broad shouldered and had a magazine in his lap. He had a somewhat dreamy look about him.
Albus moved on to look at the other boy sitting across him, he was looking outside but as soon as he felt Albus' gaze on him he looked up. Albus smiled at him and in turn he gave a lopsided grin. He held out a hand and said, " Me.. ? I'm Cody Banks" and looked around expectantly. "What!?! Nobody watches television here?" getting no reply; he quietly slumped back into his seat. " Fine.. I'm Reg Laxint," and half heartedly added, "I'm Muggleborn…" All the others exchanged glances and smiled at him. He pushed back his spiky black hair out of his grey eyes.
Reg smiled at the others and nodded at Albus, "Aren't you going to intro yourself?" Albus looked around and felt his confidence go down again, "I'm Albus Potter," "Oh!! You look an awful lot like your dad," Reg exclaimed. Albus nodded and hesitantly looked towards his watch and then at the door.
Sure enough a girl with bushy brown hair walked in. "Sorry, I'm late Albus. But we are about to reach any minute now," she said.
"Hello," Reg got up and walked towards Rose and introduced himself. Albus noticed Reg was clearly trying to impress Rose. "Hi," squeaked Rose seeming quite taken aback by this sudden introduction. "Anyway, Albus you better change into your robes now and mum said you might want to read Hogwarts: A History," Rose seemed a little worried and Albus could feel the butterflies rising in his stomach again.
There was a lot of chaos in their compartment as they shuffled about trying to locate their belongings. "Aah… I hope we meet again," Reg smiled at each one of them and then winked at Albus.
Albus looked around at the people around him. At least he was sure of one thing; he would not have to be worried about having friends. He smiled at all of them and looked out of the window seeing the towers of Hogwarts he felt a swooping sensation in the pit of his stomach.
This was going to be an exciting year, after all.
