"I have class on the other side of the building," Kurt frowned as he glanced at Blaine's schedule.
"But I don't know where I'm going," Blaine replied, trying to minimize his panic so Kurt wouldn't notice it. It was his first day at McKinley, and he was not looking forward to getting lost. The school was surprisingly large.
"It's okay, I think Mike has the same class as you first period," Kurt reassured him, grabbing the asian kid they were walking past.
"Hey Kurt," Mike said, completely unfazed that he had just been pulled away from his girlfriend. "You're Blaine right?" He asked, turning to shake Blaine's hand.
"Yeah, you're the one who does the majority of the dancing for glee aren't you?" Blaine asked, placing him now. "You have some awesome moves," he told him, a slight tone of playful jealousy.
Mike laughed and uttered a small 'thanks' before Kurt could interrupt them. "This is lovely that you're bonding, really, but I have AP French and it's on the other side of the building. Mike you have first period Calculus with Mr. Walker right? Lead Blaine there please? Thank you!" He shouted the last bit as he ran off, and Mike shrugged but headed forward through the halls.
The two started talking about classes and how Blaine was going to love Glee Club and how Mike was secretly glad he might not have to listen to Finn sing every damn day when a group of football players stopped them.
"Sup Chang? Who's your new boyfriend?" one of them asked, his eyes never leaving Blaine.
"Fuck off Azimio," Mike retorted, trying to walk past the group.
The group jeered, and Blaine's eyes caught what looked like a slushie in one guys hand. "Looks like someone's trying to talk back," the one Blaine now knew was Azimio said, the group tightening their circle around the pair. "How about you pretty boy? You look like you have more gel in your hair than Mr. Schuester." The group kind of chuckled but it was only half heartedly, and Blaine kept his focus on the slushies that were now appearing in more of their hands. "I'd hate to have to ruin that look, but a rule is a rule- if you're one of those glee club losers, I'm going to have to slushie you."
"Don't be a dick Azimio, it's his first day," Mike hissed, and Blaine was impressed with how Mike was so quick to defend him. It was new; to be bullied and still have someone on his side.
"You know Chang; I don't slushie you nearly as often as the others because you're on the football team, but I might need to change that," Azimio declared. Mike stood defiant, glaring at the group. "On the count of 3 guys," Azimio announced. "One," Blaine frowned, the guy closest to him sneering, "two," he thought vaguely of how much Kurt and Rachel had told him this sucked, "three!"
He had barely closed his eyes in time, it was freezing as it dripped down his body. He heard the footballers laugh as they walked away, felt Mike's hand on his arm as he pulled him into a nearby bathroom.
"It sucks, but for the most part that's about as bad as you'll get it here. They've toned down after Karofsky stopped being as big a dick as he was getting last year, but they still think it's cool to slushie people." Mike explained, handing Blaine some wet paper towels before trying to clean the gunk off his own head.
"At least I was forewarned," Blaine muttered, frowning as the red dye left trails down his face.
"Did Kurt tell you to bring a spare pair of clothes? You might need to." Blaine sighed, he knew he had forgotten something at home. "Come on, Mr. Walker is insane about tardiness," Mike said a few minutes later after Blaine had gotten most of what he could off himself.
"This is an awesome first day," Blaine said, and Mike shot him a grin.
"Better than mine. At least you haven't been asked to be a Cheerio yet."
