Green?

Ginny and Hermione sat on the couch looking at the green invitation on the coffee table.
"I can't believe she invited us," said Ginny.
"Do we go?" asked Hermione.
"It seems weird that we go."
"So we don't go?" asked Hermione.
"But if we don't go it might seem like we're trying to say something. And I'm glad Dean's happy with Lavender," said Ginny.
"And I'm glad Lavender's happy with Dean. Ron and Lavender was such a long time ago," said Hermione.
"Dean and I were such a long time ago," Ginny said.
"And we should be happy that Lavender and Dean are having a baby," Hermione said.
"And that Dean is still fertile after what my brothers did to him," grinned Ginny.
"Yeah. That was pretty bad. And baby showers are fun right?"
Ginny laughed, " You play really stupid games, but there's food!"
"I should have known. You're a Weasley; of course you'd be in it for the food," Hermione grinned back.
"We can laugh at how fat Lavender is," suggested Ginny. Hermione got an evil look in her eyes.
"Let's go."

"Is this the place?" Hermione asked.
Ginny glanced at the address once more. "Yup. Number 27. Look balloons!" Ginny indicated to the green balloons.
"Aren't the balloons supposed to indicate the sex of the baby?" asked Hermione. "Pink for girls, blue for boys. What's green for, alien?"
"Why would green mean alien?" Ginny asked, confused.
"Never mind, let's go."

Lavender sat on the couch opening presents. "Oh, blankets! Thank you Padma!" Lavender was showing off green receiving blankets. She moved onto the next present. "Oh a magical mobile!" Lavender exclaimed, running her hands over Parvati's gift.
"Green again," Hermione commented.
"Pretty green too!"
"Isn't it supposed to be pink," Hermione asked. "Pink for a girl?"
"Oh, pink's out," Parvati explained.
"Yeah, green is the new pink!" Lavender said.
Oh my god… Hermione thought. This was going to be one long baby shower.
