Author's notes: So, this is the last one of my serial short stories on the Season 01 Digidestined. I know I didn't do a good enough job but I always think I'll get better and better (I should've say I always *wished*, sigh....). Also, once again, reviews always help so send them in!
The silence hadn't been broken until several minutes later, a seething Taichi stormed his
way downstairs with his sport pack threw around his shoulder. Hikari looked
up from the TV to see her brother wearing his soccer shoes in the doorway.
"You're going to the soccer practice?" Hikari asked her brother unusually,
she did it the first time in the year because she knew by heart that her
brother is a soccer freak, but it was raining heavily outside.
"Huh? Oh, ya, I thought it had been cancelled but Sora called and told me
it hadn't 'coz we'll have a game soon." He replied in one breath.
Hikari looked out from the window, agreed the fact that the rain was too
heavy for any outdoor activities. "Then wear a slicker or something! That's
too much for a practice and you'll catch a cold for sure!"
"Don't worry, I had tried that and not a single sneeze." He finished tying
up his shoes and stood up, he felt a twist of guilt in his stomach suddenly.
He turned back to his petite little sister. "I'm sorry, I really shouldn't
leave you alone in the house."
Hikari shook, "it's all right, I'll be OK."
"Are you sure?"
"Hai! I have Miko-chan!"
"All right then, I'll buy you a snack on my way home." He opened the door,
"take care!"
"Ja ne!" Hikari greeted as Taichi closed the door behind him, the house was
in silence again as before. She turned from the door and back to the TV,
placed her hands on the sofa, then she realized her little kitten wasn't
cuddling in it anymore and had gone to somewhere else.
"Miko-chan?" Her voice echoed in the house, she got up from the sofa to look
for her kitten. She meowed as she walked throughout the house and finally
located her, who was scratching the glass door to the balcony, wanting to go
outside. Hikari smiled and picked her up with both of her hands, she walked
back to the sofa and sat down, putting her kitty on to her lap.
"Not today Miko-chan, the rain is too heavy outside." She stroked Miko-chan's
back with her hand, she closed her eyes in comfort and yawned lazily. "You
know what? I used to hate rainy days, the sky becomes so gray and cloudy.
Do you feel the same?" Her kitty yawned adorably again.
"However, I don't
feel the same now. I understood that I hated it because I was afraid of the
darkness, but once I've realized it, I feel totally different. I'm not
scared of it anymore because what comes after it is light, the light that
brings brightness and warmth. With that in mind I've overcomed the fear, and
it feels so good to be in light's embrace, ne?"
Her Miko-chan was deep in her sweet dreams by now, Hikari smiled at the
furball on her lap and was soon drifted into her owns.
It was an usual afternoon in the Yagami resistance. Mr. Yagami was out for
business and Mrs. Yagami was out for some shoppings. That leaves only Taichi
and Hikari remaining in the house. The entire house was in a peaceful silence
except for the muffling noises coming from the TV that have been lowered.
Hikari was comfortably sitting in the sofa watching TV with her company kitten.

This is the end of it, short ne? I usually won't write fics this short
but I figured out they're waaaaay more easier to write than the long ones.
I think this one, dedicated to Hikari in Season 01, is the shortest one I
wrote among all eight of them (I haven't upload all eight of them). Anyway,
read and review, thanks!
