Are you with me?

Rain is falling down on the sidewalk

I won't go until you come outside

Gustav stood outside waiting for her. It was beginning to rain, but that wouldn't stop him.

Kill the limbo

I'll keep tossing rocks at your window

There's no turning back for us tonight

He picked up another rock. He was preparing to throw it until she opened her window. He smiled up at her.

"Gustav, be quiet! Don't wake up my aunt!"

She frowned at him. His smile faltered and eventually faded.

"Sorry, but come on! We have to go!"

She smiled slightly and told him to catch her bag when she tossed it out the window. She climbed out and into the tree so she could get down.

Run, baby, run

Don't ever look back

They'll tear us apart

If you give them the chance

Don't sell your heart

Don't say we're not meant to be

Run, baby, run

Forever we'll be

You and me

While she was climbing, Gustav thought about his parents. They were the reason that he was leaving. They were always trying to keep them apart. They even went so far as to ban her from the house. Eventually they said if he wanted to be with her, then he could just leave.

I'll be waiting

Wishing, wanting

Yours for the taking

Just sneak out

And don't tell a soul goodbye

She knew that she was taking a big risk to be with Gustav. Her aunt would be devastated. Her aunt loved her and even approved of Gustav, even though he was 6 years older than her, sometimes 7.

Here's the countdown

Three, two, one

Now fall in my arms

Now they can change the locks

Don't let them change your mind

When she was down, she ran and leaped into Gustav's arms. She remembered how his parents had changed the locks so he wouldn't sneak in with her while they were working. She breathed in his familiar scent until he let go, grabbed her hand, and led her around the corner into his car.

We're flying through the night

We're flying through the night

Way up high

The view from here is getting better

With you by my side

Gustav was speeding down the highway. April was staring out the window at the nighttime sky. He glanced over at her and smiled. They didn't know where they were going, but everything would be okay. As long as they had each other.
