AN: just a quick fic about what New Year's is like at Akatsuki. (Me no own Naruto's characters.) I also don't know all of the characters so bare with me.

The usually quiet hideout bustled with movement as the members of Akatsuki move around cleaning, and cooking. It was almost New Year and they were preparing the hideout. They did the traditional style of Japanese New Year's, making sure the house was clean, attracting good spirits and putting out the bad.

"How did leader want to hang these scrolls? Have I been a good boy?" Tobi asked.

"Leave me alone now." Itachi ordered while he began to boil the water for some soba noodles, "I bet Deidara would know where to put the scrolls."

"Really?"

"Yes, or you could stay and screw up, then you'll never be part of Akatsuki."

"What! No! I'll be a good boy and put these away now."

"Thank God." Itachi muttered darkly.

"Itachi! What the hell did you Tobi, yeah. He won't leave me alone,un," Deidara asked while frantically dusting the decorative staues.

"He wanted to do things right so I thought you would help him." Itachi smirked, "Tell Kisame that he needs to sweep the dining room again."

"I'm not a messenger yeah. Tell him yourself." Deidara retorted leaving the kitchen. A larger explosion and screaming came from the other room, "Aaaahhhhhhhhh!!!! Why are you doing this to me, haven't I been a good boy? Waaaahhhhhh!" cried the poor not-quiet Akatsuki member.

"Damnit I just cleaned there!" Kisame yelled.

More crashing and screaming ensued then there was a angry voice, apologetic voices, and then cleaning noises accompanied by angry muttering.

It was around 7:30 that they all had finally finished, and began to have a celebration. They enjoyed a very large meal made by Itachi and Kisame, the only ones who could cook. Even if they didn't get along very well this is one of those times where the hate level was down and they started to show some get-along-ness.

"Oh oh oh, can we start the fireworks yeah! That would be great yeah." said, from guess who, Deidara immediately after dinner was finished.

"Yea yea!" Tobi excitedly added, "That would be fun."

For once those two agreed with each other, that would be the first and last time this year.

The Akatsuki members saw a colorful bright explosions courtesy of Deidara. They then watch later watched the sun come up over the horizon and went to their private temple to pray for a good year. Seeing as they had not slept, there weren't any missions and all of them headed to bed to rest for the upcoming year.

Happy New Year!!!!!!!!!! I know it's a short story but I this is just what I imagine New Year's might be like in Akatsuki. R&R please.
