I know your type. Wish I didn't. You Hylians...always thinking you're some superior race. The rest of us should exist to serve you, or else hide out of your mind's eye. Well, I got news for you lot. You best be careful when you're looking down at us humans from your pedestal. You may just stumble and find yourselves down here with the rest of us. Then you'll see you're no better at all.
So you say your pointed ears help you hear the voices of the gods, eh? Well, did that uppity guard captain of yours hear the gods tellin' him to frame me for a murder he knew damn well I ain't done? Thought he could just get rid of me. Keep me quiet...When I was just fine minding my own business.
Yeah, I knew all about him and his secret Gerudo lover. The first time I saw her in the castle, I took her for a thief and reported it to the captain. Figured that would be the end of it. Seemed eager enough to be rid of her himself. But when she showed up again, this time what'd he say to me? "I'll take care of it. You'd do well to keep to your groundskeeping without looking for trouble." Good enough for me. I knew where I stood next to his kind. Me, a lowly human; him, a high and mighty Hylian guard captain. Last thing I wanted was trouble.
That's why I kept my mouth shut when I spotted him and the Gerudo meeting in secret at the Nayru's Love brothel in CastleTown. What'd I care who he rolled in the sack with? Wasn't above paying for "company" myself; that's what brought me there. Live and let live, was how I saw it.
Lot of good that thinkin' did me when the captain's wife turned up dead in the castle garden. Facedown in the lilies. Meant she either fell from the top tower, or jumped. Maybe even got pushed. Either way, it wasn't long before the guards rushed on the scene, the captain not far behind. Couldn't tell if his tears were real or not when he had me put away for offin' his wife and his two boys found poisoned upstairs. Didn't matter how much I said I was in the castle grounds all day. Ain't no way I could have gone upstairs to push a lady out the window, poison her sons and come back down without being seen. The bastard didn't bat an eye when I was dragged off here to this dungeon.
That bastard.
He knows I didn't do it. Whether he did it himself, or that Gerudo bitch did it for him, or the lady found out and took the leap on her own, it don't matter. All that mattered was someone else took the blame...and who was gonna take some human groundskeeper's word over that of an upstanding Hylian?
Hylians. Every last horse's ass one of you. Mark my words, your day is coming. You can't go on running the show forever. It may be in your lifetime or your children's. Your grandchildren's, tops. But you'll pay for what you did to me. What you do to all folks what aren't like you.
And I hope to the Goddess I'll be there to see it happen.
