Unspoken

She was there, sitting next to Cana in the guildhall, chatting with the Card Mage about something unimportant as Lucy chatted with Lisanna as Erza towered somewhere in the background, eating her cake and keeping an eye on the younger mages while Mirajane was busy trying to get Levy to drink some beer. It was strange how well Fairy Tail's women got along, he mused as he watched how Evergreen and Bisca approached the others, carrying the bags from their latest shopping trip as Asuka dragged Wendy over to the others. In other guilds, there was more rivalry. Rivalry for the title of the most beautiful, of the strongest, of the smartest. It was not like this in Fairy Tail even though Evergreen held most likely still a little bit of a grudge against Erza because of the title Titania, Queen of the Fairies.

"Stripper," Gajeel said as he nodded at the other man. "What are you up to lately? I haven't seen you around the guild lately … if you are cheating on Juvia, I'll kill you, understood?"

The Ice Mage gulped as he hastily looked over to his girlfriend. "I'm not cheating on her," he snapped as he kept his voice low. The last thing he wanted or needed was that Juvia assumed that he was indeed cheating on her because that might cause a lot of trouble.

"Good," Gajeel said as he sniffed a few times. "You aren't smelling of another woman so that should be true … still, be careful. The shrimp said that Juvia's getting worried."

"I'm working on something. You will see soon enough," the younger mage said as he looked at his girlfriend with a faint smile.

"It's Gray," Cana said with a shrug that was supposed to be nonchalant but this failed because of her intoxication. "He's too lazy to cheat on someone – and I cannot imagine that anyone else would have enough patience to deal with him. No offence, Juvia, but he's a real brat at times."

"I agree with Cana there," Erza said. "He got no time to find someone else, someone new."

"And no one who knows him would start something with him – out of fear to be drowned," Evergreen said cheerfully as she downed another shot. She was a bad drinker because she would get silly and say pointless things. Cana actually liked to keep her around for those reasons.

Lucy nodded as she clasped Juvia's hand in hers. "We will investigate that," she promised.

Behind them, Gray cleared his throat. "Can I talk to Juvia for a moment?" he asked carefully.

Erza sat up and threw her bottle at him. "Be careful, Gray," she slurred. "If you hurt Ju-chan, we aaaaaallll will hurt you. Ever, can you make him stoned?"

Juvia rose, shaking off her fear and smiled. "Yes?" she asked. "What can Juvia do for you?"

Gray was silent as he walked ahead of her, leaving the guildhall and strolling through the park. "It has been a while since we have met," he said. "And well, you became quite important to me along those years. You kinda sneaked into my life … and well, I kinda fell as you were there." He shrugged at her, smiling apologetic. "Well, here you go…" he said as he threw something at her before fleeing the scene with cheeks that burned crimson in embarrassment.

Juvia's mouth formed a perfect O as she opened the little box and stared at the ring. Her lips formed a bright smile as she turned around to chase after her newly attained fiancé.
