Today is Christmas Eve and tonight someone will die. It is said that every Christmas eve the mayor of Sunnydale, California must sacrifice 10 teenager citizens, who are 18 years old, and send them out in the middle of the town plaza, to be eaten, or to defeat Santa Claws, the Christmas werewolf. The rest of the citizens will lock themselves away in their homes, and enjoy a nice family dinner.
The mayor smiled in delight, it was Buffy Summer's last year of high school and then next year she could graduate! But the mayor wasn't delighted about that; he was delighted about the fact that Buffy is 18 years old. Which meant, she was old enough to sacrifice. What an easy way to kill off the slayer… he thought. He burst into laughter and clapped his hands. "Oh this is going to be great! What a merry Christmas this will be! Ho ho!"
A knock on the door interrupted his moment of happiness. With a groan the mayor frowned, his happiness suddenly drained as if by a powerful vacuum, and said, "Come in"
His co-worker, Mr. Simmons, walked into the mayor's office, his body trembling with either excitement, or the feeling of a thousand butterflies in your stomach that you can't hold so your body decides to tremble and shake. He handed a piece of white paper. "Here are the lists of teenagers, we added a checkbox beside each name so that you can check off the 10 teenagers instead of having to circle the names or write down the names."
The mayor nodded, feeling as if the vacuum that drained his happiness was coming back and slowly emptying itself into his body. He smiled and took the paper. He looked down at the paper and began to read.
"Oh and they're sorted in alphabetically order from their first name" Mr. Simmons told him.

The mayor smiled when he saw the 4 names he really wanted, and check marked them immediately. His heart raced with excitement. Finally he thought time to test the slayer past her limits… we'll see if she'll make it out alive. I highly doubt it. He laughed again, and then randomly checked off 6 other names. The names he really wanted were underlined, and he decided to make them stand out. And the good thing about this was that that no one would be helping them, so the slayer wouldn't have her watcher.
