Powerful. Quick. Brave. These were all words that were commonly associated with him, as much as she knew he would never accept that much praise. The way he moved astounded her, not quite believing that anyone could move that gracefully, that it must be an illusion. He could reach heights that others could only dream of reaching, and made it look easy. He was the envy of everyone, and everyone's idol. Their hero, their savior. It was of no surprise that females flocked to him, attracted by the excitement and mystery he seemed to offer. Many of these barely knew him. All but one; one person knew him very well, or so they had thought. It had given them hope.

Beautiful. Intelligent. Inspirational. These were all words that were commonly associated with her, as much as he knew he would never accept that much praise. The way she worked astounded him, not quite believing that anyone could be that clever, that it must be a hoax. She could create things that others could only dream or creating, and made it seem easy. She was the envy of everyone, and everyone's idol. Their leader, their hope. It was of no surprise that males flocked to her, attracted by the innocence and kindness she seemed to offer. Many of these barely knew her. All but one; one person knew her very well, or so she thought. It had shattered their hope.

What we're gonna be
Sometimes she daydreamed. She dream of him, and of her, and of them together. It seemed so real to her, her mind tricking her into believing he had given her the answer she longed for. She could see it in her mind, flashes of what could have been. She imagined the war had ended, that they were finally at peace. She imagined them watching the sunset, lying in fields of flowers, a candlelit meals - everything a young girl would hope for in a relationship with her hero. And, if only for a while, she truly believed it was happening. That is was real.
Opened my eyes...
"Ragnarok... is... breaking apart... Ragnarok has entered the atmosphere. Most of it will burn up on entry. Impact with Area Zero has been averted. Mission... Successful..."
She felt numb. This was it. She couldn't pretend any longer, couldn't hope any longer. He was gone. She finally realised something she should have known all along.
It was only just a dream.
