Death by Apple

Hi! It's Lightkit again! This came from Death Note 2. This is a kind-of funny short story. Hope you like it!

Death by Apple
Tohru was bored. Bored, bored, bored. The laundry had been done, everything was clean, and there were still a few hours 'til dinner. "I know!" she said. "I'll go on Gaia."
She left Kyo and Momiji watching the Twilight Zone. Walking into her room, she turned on her computer. While it loaded, she listened to the Twilight Zone prologue. Once it had finally loaded, she opened internet explorer, and logged onto Gaia.
Once on, she went to the towns. There were so many people talking, it was hard to tell who was saying what. Suddenly, one seemed to stand out against the rest. "Do you know Gods of Death love apples?" she read aloud. 'Hmm,' she thought, 'Akito likes to torture people and they usually die afterwards, so does that make her a god of death? Guess there's one way to find out!'
She ran downstairs, grabbed her coat and shoes, and yelled, "I'm going out! I'll be back soon!" She went down the street to the nearest drug store. She bought something to poison an apple with and went back home.
After spiking an apple, she tied it with a red ribbon and a tag the said 'To: Akito' on it. She laid it just outside the back door. While she looked at it, so innocently lying there, she grinned. Then she went inside to make dinner.
After dinner, she nonchalantly said, "I'm going for a walk." When Momiji asked where she was going, she answered, "The main house. I have to give something to Akito." When the boys nearly jumped out of their seats, she said, "I found an apple with Akito's name on it." She left without another word.
As she walked to the main house, she wondered if someone would try to arrest her. She assured herself that no one would think of her and the poison would just give Akito a heart attack that should cause her to lose control of the curse, thereby breaking it.
Getting inside the gates was difficult but she got through. When she asked a servant to see Akito, Tohru was granted access. She knelt before the god, saying respectfully, "Akito."
"What do you want?" Akito asked sullenly. She turned away from the window. When she saw the apple, her eyes widened, and her mouth twitched into a maniacal grin. "Is that apple for me?"
Tohru nodded, showing her the tag on the ribbon.
Akito grabbed it, and tore off the wrapping paper, like a child tears at Christmas wrapping. Hurriedly, she bit hard into the apple, taking a huge bite out of it. She closed her eyes, savoring the taste and swallowed. Suddenly, she stiffened and squeezed her eyes shut. She clutched at her heart, swayed, and stumbled backwards.
"Akito? Are you alright? Akito?" Tohru reached out tentavly. Akito continued to stumble backwards, heading toward the window. Tohru screamed, "Akito look out!" Akito fell backwards out the window.

Tohru sat alone at home. The party earlier had quickly stopped with a call from Kureno. Akito had died. Tohru wondered how that could have happened. Another glance outside settled that. There was the apple that she had prepared, still sitting there behind the decorative wheelbarrow.
'At least the curse is broken,' she thought. 'At least with Hatori at the head, there won't be any more torture. I hope…'
Suddenly, Kyo burst in, shouting, "The curse is gone! The curse is gone! Hey Tohru, come into the living room." He grabbed her hand and tugged her into the living room. The party was just getting started.

Well, how was it? This is my first one-shot. I was supposed to put it up yesterday, but it didn't save right. Sorry about that. This was inspired by death note 2. Read it sometime.
