Berk, morning.
It was a bright, sunny and glorious day. Hiccup, well-rested and bright, awoken to Toothless moaning near his bed. It wasn't normal for him to wake up so late. Toothless impatiently pushed Hiccup out of bed.
"What's the big rush, bud?" groaned a slightly unbalanced Hiccup. He has been getting used to his new leg, after the battle with the Queen of Dragons. It's been a while since Hiccup lost his leg. Hiccup got up, with the support of Toothless, put on his tunic, trousers and boots and walked outside. There it was, the calming Berk breeze. The children, playing in the streets. Viking adults, having conversations. Everything was extremely normal. Nothing could get in his way from walking to the great hall for breakfast.
It wasn't long until he reached his table with his food. Being a hungry Viking who almost died saving Berk a week ago, he chowed down on his food almost instantly as he sat down, almost oblivious to his very violent, but caring friend, Astrid, sitting down next to him.
(Enter, violent dragon rider.)
"Hey." Said Astrid, trying to get Hiccup's attention. She really couldn't threaten him, considering half of Berk's population was eating right near them. "Hello….?" Nudged Astrid, again. Hiccup must have been really hungry, considering he was ignoring Astrid. Astrid, who has had enough of being ignored, punched Hiccup in the shoulder. He nearly choked on his bread.
"Astrid, what was that about?" exclaimed a very startled Hiccup. "That, is for ignoring me." Replied a very annoyed Astrid. Hiccup immediately knew she was probably flirting with him, but he wouldn't dare to push that theory. "I didn't know you were here! I-" Hiccup tried to explain that the Great Hall was loud and full of chatterbox Vikings, but Astrid stopped him. "I don't want excuses, Hiccup. Why ignore me? I'm basically your girlfriend." Hiccup was shocked. He had no idea that someone as popular as Astrid would even think of calling herself his 'girlfriend'. "I never heard you say that, I didn't know you thought that about me." Replied Hiccup, calmly.
Astrid was getting a bit annoyed that Hiccup Horrendous Haddock III, the boy she shared her first and second kiss with, didn't think of himself as her boyfriend. She had tightened her fist, ready to punch his face and set things straight. Hiccup, seeing as Astrid was about to punch him, accepted his fate. He knew he couldn't fight back. Astrid stopped for a moment, thinking what Hiccup would think if she had punched him. She unclenched her fist, and leaned forward to kiss him on the cheek. So far, breakfast had gone good for Hiccup. Now he had to deal with the rest of the Dragon Riders. Time to go find them.
(Enter, an S-Crazy maniac, two twins who are the craziest, weirdest maniacs to save the world, and a very caring dragon rider who actually has some sense.)
Up on the tower, of course. Where they told stories before Hiccup was known as a hero. That's where they were eating, it's where they always used to eat on weekends. Hiccup stomped up the final step with bravery, and strength as he told the gang what is what. "Alright gang, we need to run a search of the island. Make sure there are no more rabid dragons roaming around." Said Hiccup, explaining the plan. "Blah, blah, blah, Hiccup this area, Astrid this area, I THINK… we know how this works." Snotlout talked back to Hiccup. Hiccup was furious, but let it slide. This was Snotlout, of course. Around 5 minutes later, Fishlegs and the others saddle up and start searching. Astrid does the same, and Hiccup finally takes off. They all go in different directions, and their dragons know how to signal if something goes wrong.
Usually, no dragons are found in the search, but it is a necessary precaution to keep the island safe. This search was different. Tuffnut had found a purple rock with a very weird shape. Turns out it was the village crafters, for the children's activities. How did it get over here though? Kid must have lost it. Fishlegs started seeing a wavelength in the sky near the south side of Berk. Astrid saw one in the North. They didn't look like anything yet, and it was fairly cold outside. Might be the snow messing with their minds. They returned and reported their findings.
Nothing.
They found absolutely nothing.
Please review! I would seriously appreciate it!
