What a great start to the day, I was 10 minutes late for my interview at the Blake Cross corporation. This was all Maddie's fault, my ever forgetful room mate had borrowed my alarm clock a few days before and not yet give it back. As the cab pulled up outside, I took a deep breath, paid and got out of the cab, stepping right into a puddle. Today really wasn't my day. I shook the best of the water off my shoe and walked into the reception area.
It was surprisingly comfortable and welcoming the intimidating size of the building. There was a fireplace just to my left which were already warming my soaked shoes and relaxing me slightly. I walked up to the desk, noticing the gorgeous blonde seated professionally behind it dressed in such an immaculate way that I felt under-dressed in my simple black skirt and white shirt. I was acutely aware of my dark red rain soaked hair plastered to my face as she looked me over, almost critically.
"I'm here for my person assistant job interview with a Mr Jackson Cross." I stumbled out nervously, her confident air intimidating me slightly.
She motioned for me to wait there and walked off down the hall into another room. As I was waiting I glanced about and looked for the first time at the inside of the building. The white natural walls and hard grey marvel floor and desks gave it a fairly cold appearance but the assortment of plants and lights around the area brightened it up somewhat. I was brought out of my thoughts with the return of Blondie. She didn't look any friendlier either.
"Mr Jackson will see you now" she stated, that cold air still hovering about her. I nodded and followed her to an elevator. All 8 floors of the elevator ride were spent in cold awkward silence trying to avoid the Blondes cold stare. We finally reached the 9th floor and she walked out with me following meekly behind her. She walked to the last door at the far end of the corridor, and indicated me to go in then strode off back to the elevator.
I took a deep breath to steady my nerves and shaking legs, knocked and after hearing the affirmative to enter, walked inside...
