Everyday seemed like a dream.

Riku had never really believed in happy endings. It all seemed too good to be true to him, just a bunch wishful thinking that was sure to end in disappointment. But now, as he looked down at the sleeping boy beside him, long eyelashes brushing against gently tanned cheeks, he couldn't help but wonder.

"Riku," Sora had said to him, that night on the beach. The smaller boy had turned to stare at him with deep, sincere blue eyes, tongue darting out to timidly lick an eternally pouted lip.

"Riku, what would you say if I told you I loved you?"

Riku hadn't been expecting that. Maybe a question about the darkness, or King Mickey, or ice cream or something like that, but nothing about love. The silver haired boy had simply shrugged, turning his gaze to the ocean.

"I'd say I love you too, Sor," he muttered. "I mean, we're friends."

"No," Sora had said, frowning. He scooted towards the older boy, placing his hands on Riku's cheeks in an effort to get the boy to look at him. "I mean, love as in… romance. Like, sex. And stuff."

"I…" Riku blushed, tensing noticeably. Part of him had believed that Sora was just playing a joke on him. Believed that he really was just curious, or was asking him to help decide whether to confess to Kairi or not. Part of him wanted to laugh it off, walk away, and never speak of it again.

But another part, a much larger, more passionate part, believed wholeheartedly that he was meant to be with Sora.

With a reluctant, delicate smile, Riku had reached up to place his hands over Sora, slowly moving to entwine their fingers. He chuckled at the blush that painted the brunette's cheeks, bending over just enough to brush their foreheads together.

"I'd say…" Riku had taken a deep breath, trying to gather his nerves, to say the words that he had longed to say since they were children. "I'd say that I love you, too."

The smile that had blessed Sora's lips then had been more beautiful than anything Riku could ever have imagined. The small boy pressed their lips together lightly, sweetly, pulling away after a brief moment. His eyes sparkled with delight, and Riku could not help but grin.

"I love you, Sor," he had whispered.

"I love you too, Riku."

Back then, they had been so young. It felt as though it had only been yesterday, though many years had passed. Sora grew more beautiful every day, and every time they made love, the younger boy cried out Riku's name as if the sound were a gift.

"Ri…ku…?"

The silver haired man smiled down at his lover, a hand traveling to gently stroke his hair. Riku could never get over how cute Sora was in the morning, his blue eyes hazy and a distant, blissful smile on his angelic lips.

"Good morning, Sora," he said, smirking as Sora let out a long, lazy yawn. The brunette looked up at Riku for a moment, gaze unreadable, before scooting closer and arranging the other man's arms around him.

"You're so damn adorable," Riku said, groaning halfheartedly. Sora giggled, snuggling up to him.

"Let's just stay like this all day, okay, Riku?"

Riku almost objected. He almost said that they should really eat something, that they still had work to do and they had done this enough times that the others would get pissed if they disappeared for a day again. But then he felt Sora's soft breath against his chest, small arms wrapped around his neck and small legs entwined with his own, and he knew that there was no point in even trying to find reason.

"Yeah," he said, smiling. "That sounds nice."
