A.N.: Hi there! This is the first fan fiction in a (hopefully) long series of fics telling the story of a certain mysterious character that appeared briefly in the previous one shot.
Warning: this is a quasi-SIOC fic, and there will be IzuOcha moments in this story. With this out of the way, let's get started!
Edit 12/04/2019: I have rewritten the chapter to make it more readable. You're welcome ;)
I had just woken up in a dark... room? I think Gaster had called this a void. The name wasn't important though. I was in unknown territory with basically no information other than its type. I calmed down, and tried to think until I got interrupted by a familiar voice.
"So, how do you like this place? Cosy, right?" a mysterious figure said while grinning.
"General Legrand," I replied, "I thought you said you barely had enough energy to activate the time stone! How are you even standing?"
"Oh, please, have I ever told you the whole truth?" He asked, seeming exasperated. "Not like a bloody stupid hero like you would understand," He muttered.
Silence filled the void. I finally had enough time to think for a bit, and I remembered what Gaster had told me about voids. There are only three ways to get into one: either a) you broke laws of the universe, b) someone sealed you in it or c) you will be born again in an other timeline, most likely the result of a spell. It was definitely not a) nor b), so that left me with the fact that the general had used a pretty powerful time travel attack.
How did I get there, you must wonder? Where to start... One day, I met a monster called Gaster, who trained me to use supernatural abilities. Needless to say, ever since that day, my life has changed quite a bit. The general I'm talking about is part of the Order, a criminal organisation that 'recruits' members with supernatural abilities. They, of course, tried to recruit me, but I refused, and ever since then, I'm their number one enemy.
This is why I have fought general Legrand. I have won the last fight we had, but he managed to teleport me in this timeline. However, I knew that rebirth spells required magic circles that he had not used, which meant that he was using an incomplete version of the spell. If he was using an incomplete version, he had to put conditions under which I would be transported back to my original timeline!
I was ecstatic, seeing the light at the end of the tunnel. But what the general said buried this metaphorical tunnel:
"It looks like you've finally realised that I am using an incomplete rebirth spell. You must be wondering what conditions must be fulfilled if you want to get out of this timeline. Well, hate it to break it to you - not really of course - but there aren't any."
"What? Bolshevik, you must have sacrificed something for the spell to work properly." I said, not believing him.
"How did you even..." He said, "Whatever, it doesn't even matter. You'll technically be able to get out of this timeline because I gave a time manipulating ability. But don't think it will be easy! I made sure that you will suffer when trying to discover how to get out. Oh, look at that, light is piercing through the void. I think your new body is finally ready. Good bye my friend, I hope you have a horrible new life!"
"Son of a baptist preacher!" I yelled, remembering what my American friend always said.
However, when I heard what I had 'said', two things appeared to be wrong. Firstly, the voice was way to high-pitched for me. Secondly, I didn't hear any words, but only an ear-piercing scream. It almost sounded like a... baby?!
'No, that's ridiculous, of course I'm not a baby, how ridiculous would that be?' I thought to myself, 'Just to be sure, let's try again in french.'
"JE SUIS UN PYRO-BARBARE!" is what I wanted to say but another ear-piercing scream came out instead. (A.N.: go to the end of the chapter if you don't understand french)
I concluded that I really had been reborn into a baby, which was very saddening. Hearing "It's a boy" made me very happy, because I don't what I would have done if I was reborn into a girl. The doctor took me in his arms and gave me to my parents.
If I had to describe my father in one word, it would be plain. He wasn't particularly tall nor small and he didn't have any defining features except perhaps a small tint of blue in his hair. He looked like a nice guy though, so that's cool I guess.
In contrast with my plain-looking dad, my mother seemed to have come straight out of a manga. White hair, clock patterns in her eyes (I really hoped I had those) and a very nice smile.
To summarize, both of my parents didn't look as terrible as the general had sold them to be, which is good because that means that he wasn't able to influence the whole timeline to be evil.
However, before having a nice nap, a nurse took me in her arms, saying things I didn't understand - was this Japanese? I thought she was going to examine me, but there weren't any machines where she put me. No, instead, she fired a laser from her eyes to analyse my body! Eye lasers! That allowed her to see in X-rays!
Well, this timeline might prove to be interesting.
A.N.: Thanks for reading this chapter! I hope you enjoyed it. Feel free to leave a review if you have any suggestions. The french sentence meant "I AM A FIRE BARBARIAN!", which is a reference to a french youtuber named Bob Lenon. With this out of the way, see you next time for a new chapter of The Quirky Adventures!
"Beef ? I am lacking in beef. Fawful is beefless."
