Chapter 1

There was only mist and dew that morning. The forest's leaves were covered by the dew drops and mist swarmed in between the trees.
It was early spring and the forest was just beginning to regain life.
The deer were mating, the fawns leaping, the rabbits hopping, the foxes, cats and wolves stalking. Life that had basically died during the long, harsh winter was being reborn.
But beneath the trees, two shadows appeared one from the north and one from the south.
As soon as the figures appeared, they tried to push away the mist, and then the mist came shrouding back, covering them until a word was spoken.
The mist around the two figures, as if lifted by hands, was draped upwards.
But, the animals still had mist surrounding them, not knowing exactly where enemies were. At the sight of the figures, the animals turned and ran, knowing that if they stayed around to much, that the figures, even though good people, that they would do anything for their privacy.
Speaking in whispers, the two figures didn't leave till an hour and a half later, each summoning a horse, then galloping off, the mist draping back, like the curtain, closing the play.
