Welcome to Kilika!
Did you ever take the boat from Besaid to Luca and, when finding yourself at our little island, wonder if the captain had been driving in circles? Or did you float in by Sin? No matter, we at the Kilika island can tend to most of your needs and wants! We were unfortunate enough to encounter Sin just a few weeks ago, but on brighter note, that also means we now get to rebuild a new and improved Kilika – for you.
We also have a cosy little Inn where you can rest and regain your strength with a good night's sleep. And what's better than being awakened at sunrise by the sound of seagulls and the smell of fish?
Or what do you say to starting your day at the docks, sipping tea with the fishermen, and savouring the local atmosphere of peace and quiet while watching the beautiful sunrise? (Unless you're one of those who prefer celebrating a blitzball win all through the night in noisy Luca!) For those who are interested, we can easily arrange a trip to the sea to join the fishermen in their daily routines. (The danger of such a trip is at its lowest right now as Sin was just here, so this is a bargain!)
If you are keener on a safari adventure, the Kilika forest is just waiting for you with all its challenging fiends and confusing jungle paths. If you are not an experienced fighter or guardian, we would advice you to arrange for one of the local people to accompany you. For a tiny amount of Gil, and a symbolic share of the accumulated items, he will guide you safely to the temple and back.
If, however, you feel like challenging this adventure on your own, we offer plenty of helpful items, weapons and armours in our local store. We will recommend you buying some fire ward armour and antidotes – the fiends here can be a real treat – and being burned to a crisp or slowly dying due to poison is not a good way to spend your holiday. And even though we do think the Kilika forest is one of the most beautiful ones in Spira, we do not recommend watching it from a petrified state, so keep a couple of softs in your bag!
At the other end of the forest, you find the Kilika temple. Any self-respecting Yevonite would never dream of missing this beautiful home of the fire Aeon Ifrit. Pray at this warm and sacred temple to give you the sense of calm and harmony before proceeding to Luca – you might need it.
And if you're lucky, you'll be able to watch the Kilika Beasts train for the upcoming blitz season! So mark off a few days on your holiday calendar to visit this little gem; we can offer you everything from tranquillity to adventures!
