Prologue: Cannibal Dragons & Demon Slayers
Dukrongruth, The Cannibal Dragon: Part I
Deep in the cold depths of space, there is a large warship containing someone or something of great power. A being of unimaginable power and someone who was thought to be a hero. A man people on his former homeworld called Dragonborn is now slumbering in his chambers as his loyal subordinates find a planet worthy to be part of the Azuran Empire. The Dragonborn has long since abandoned that name however and has adopted a new one given to him by his new masters and fellow dragons.
It's already been thousands of years ever since he has betrayed the Nine Divines and conquered Nirn for Azura. People say that his betrayal was justified when the Nine Divines denied him of his great boon: the revival the millions of lives lost during the Second Oblivion Crisis. Before he became a Paragon, he did not ask for praise, glory, or reward for his countless duties for Nirn and it's people, so when he asked for all the lives that have lost and his request to be denied, he was distraught and angry with himself and the Nine Divines. Himself for not being able to close all the portals when he knew he could've done faster; and at the gods who refused to grant his one and only request.
He thought that his heroics and duties weren't worthy enough for the Nine Divines to revive countless lives all across Nirn, so he went on countless quest to prove himself worthy for this request. Fifty years have past and they still refuse to grant the Dragonborn his gift. He got desperate and turned to the Daedric Princes for aid. They unsurprisingly refused to grant him his request and mocked him for it. Why would they, the Daedric Princes, grant a mortal their wish. With the millions of souls they've gotten over the Second Oblivion Crisis, the souls lost during the Second Oblivion Crisis was much more valuable than the Dragonborn's soul, even with his amazing powers.
Distraught, he has cut off all connections and every pledge he has made with every single deity in Nirn and walked to the ruins of High Hyrothgar and decided to simply meditate at the ruins of his old master's dwellings until he died. When he left, the guilds he leads were soon lost to history as former members leave or were scared of trying to take the place of the former legendary hero. He would meditate in silent protest against the gods with a few students joining him in his protests over the years. Not even the threat of the world ending would attract the former hero to stop it. The Nine Divines probably already chosen their next hero after he broke his pledges to the Nine Divines and the remaining Daedric Princes he used to worship. Unfortunately, there was no shortage of assassins and daedric demons trying to kill him after revoking and spitting on the face of every deity known to Nirn. Still he never even speaks or opens his mouth, for even the smallest of peeps can cause earthquakes strong enough to raise the lands and split the new kingdoms that have formed in his absence.
After years of isolation and constant assassination attempts, he was approached by beings called Paragons that were outside of Nirn and claimed to have the powers and willingness to grant the Dragonborn's gift. The Dragonborn has long since forgotten his true reason for meditating on this cold mountain and when he finally remembered, he politely declined their offer, saying that the world has forgotten about the Second Oblivion Crisis and has moved on since. Then when they offered a chance of true revenge of the gods, that finally got him interested in what they were saying. They offered him the power to right the wrongs of both the Daedric Prince and the Nine Divines have done over the centuries since he was alive and he accepted to join their cause after months of persuading.
The Dragonborn was taken to their dwellings and have restored the Dragonborn to the age of his beginning adventuring days. He was tasked with objectives that the Dragonborn thought would be his vengeance, but this was just the beginning of something horrifying. He started off small, just converting a small handful of people to Azura's teachings and rules, effectively converting them to atheism and denying that the gods actually exist. The Dragonborn's next tasks were to reform the old guilds before the Second Oblivion Crisis. Groups like the Thieves Guild, the Dark Brotherhood, the Winterhold College, and the Companions were all now under the control and support of Azura.
The Companions acted as a legal source of income for Azura and was their legal front to the rest of the world. The Dark Brotherhood, though without their Night Mother to guide them anymore, became the personal assassins for many Azuran Generals and they killed all who oppose Azura. Winterhold College acted as a place for study and a place of less restriction when it came to experiments. Countless new spells were created for the sole use of Azura and their followers with new members and scientists joining to escape the restrictions of the other magic colleges who condemned their experiments. The Thieves Guild was also another source of income for Azura, but they did so with less legal practices and means. They've committed countless heists and sowed chaos and paranoia all over the cities and kingdoms of Nirn.
After a few years of getting their operations finally settled, Azura finally orchestrated the ultimate revenge for the Dragonborn. He was awarded the title of Paragon after of service to them. When the Dragonborn accepted the title, he was soon given powers he thought was impossible to achieve for mortal men like himself. Turns out, the title of Paragon was a legendary title across Azura and essentially turned the Dragonborn into a god. He chose to abandon his mortal form and replace it with the image of a fierce dragon. He soon learned of Azura's true intentions and the responsibility of a Paragon.
Paragons were beings of great power, great enough to replace the gods and take over their responsibilities. The Dragonborn was soon taught of the cycle of power throughout the universe, that mortals will eventually replace the dominant force that rules the universe and take on a new name. Azura thought themselves to be the mortals to replace their current rulers that happen to be the gods and have proven to be a force to be reckoned with. Billions of planets are now ruled by Paragons like the Dragonborn and have been prospering over their benevolent rule ever since they killed the gods that ruled over their realm.
After learning of his new responsibility and knowing that he isn't a true Paragon yet, he was given his next task and was told that it was a necessary part of their plan to overthrow all the gods in Nirn. The Dragonborn would have to personally hunt down every single dragon on Nirn and consume their souls. The Dragonborn did this task, but with great sorrow in his heart, knowing that he would have to kill his former mentor and friend. He decided to kill Paarthurnax last and when it came time to kill him, Paarthurnax understood the Dragonborn's quest and fought the Dragonborn to a duel to the death. The Dragonborn has won this battle, but he would not celebrate this victory over his mentor. Before he died, Paarthurnax muttered a few words of power onto the ground, telling the Dragonborn that this would be his new name and the name everyone would know him by for eternity. Dukrongruth, The Cannibal Dragon; Devourer, Conquerer, Betrayer.
The newly named Dukrongruth sadly took his new name as punishment for his crimes and flew back to Azura's new headquarters. When he told his masters that his deed was done, they could finally initiate the final phase of their plan, destroy the Nine Divines and the Daedric Princes.
What followed next was a bloody war against the gods and Dukrongruth being responsible for killing every single Daedra and Aedra in Nirn. He ravaged the halls of Sovngarde and inducted the broken warriors into Azura after defeating all of them in one-to-one combat. Dukrongruth absorbed all the remaining dragon souls that were waiting for new bodies after he killed Akatosh, preventing them to ever have new bodies forever. The former Dragonborn finally got revenge for the countless invasions on Mehrunes Dagon, making Mehrune's death particularly slow and painful to pay for both of the Oblivion Crises.
After one hundred years of fighting, Dukrongruth finally killed the last remaining Daedric Prince, Molag Bal, he was finally given his Paragon title. He would be known as Dukrongruth, The Cannibal Dragon Of Domination. After he was officially made into a Paragon, he was given the choice to keep serving Azura and expand their empire and bring prosperity to the universe. Dukrongruth accepted this and soon became a conqueror for the Azuran Empire. Dukrongruth's lust for power and for food would only grow with each planet he conquers after that. His loyal undying soldiers would feed him the dragons they capture so that they can be 'reborn' through him, become eternal with the countless other dragon souls inside of him. He would eventually take on a silverly ethereal form, constantly shifting and seamlessly transforming into each dragon he devoured.
Dukrongruth would also learn of the countless dragon gods that have claimed to create all of the dragons in the universe, but just created the dragons in their realm. As punishment for this arrogance, he would consume all their dragon children who refuse to join him and consume the dragon creator last as they gaze upon his mouth where all dragons he has ever consumed flow through his transparent silver body.
He would also command his followers to construct special wishing temples across the universe, a gateway to his own pocket dimension where all the treasures and trophies he has collected reside. The people who complete the trials and tests his wishing temples provide, he shall grant them any wish they desire with no limitations to their wish. Dukrongruth would do the gods what they couldn't, grant any wish their servants desire. Whether it's having their pocket dimension to rule, reviving one's entire species back from extinction, or even having an entire planet's worth of beautiful women to live on; Dukrongruth is not one to judge and shall grant the wishes the mortal who completes the trials desires. However, most who do complete their quest only wish to be rid of nightmares and mental illnesses the trials cast upon them as they go deeper into the wishing temples. These unrestricted wishes do have some restrictions themselves, the amount of willpower, courage, and strength to pull through the trials of the wishing temples is a trial upon itself.
Now in the present day, Dukrongruth's warship approaches another planet that's fit for the Azuran Empire. A planet called Earth. Earth was an extremely common name that mortals give their planets, it's become a common joke amongst Azuran soldiers, counting how many planets called Earth have they been to already. Ask one of Dukrongruth's veteran soldiers and they would say they have seen over five thousand planets called Earth. When Dukrongruth was given reports of the planet, he has noticed a good amount of powerful dragons live on the planet. The thought of new dragons to consume was making him hungry for them as seconds go by. He thinks of the countless ways he'll consume the dragons. Will he consume their souls as they wither away? Physically eat them alive as they squirm around in his teeth? Or would be merciful and just absorb them into his celestial body? There so many ways to consume their powers, he was thinking he would just do a combination of the three.
This was the story of how a former hero became such a gluttonous conquerer. A hero turned betrayer, a man turned to Paragon. The story of a man who wanted revenge for something he has long forgotten about and has turned into something more superior than a god. This is the story of the cannibal dragon who wants only to consume others and expand his master's empire.
William Blazkowicz III, The Eternal Hellwalker: Part I
We've all heard the stories yes? About the man so enraged that not even the most powerful demons of Hell can stop this mortal man. A man was so dangerous that demons have come to secretly worship his power and rage. The legacy the Blazkowicz bloodline has imprinted upon the universe is a large one. Starting from a man who just wanted to keep his world safe from a totalitarian superpower ended up splitting a timeline in two. How about the stories of a child of the same name who was secretly defending the world from an alien threat? And now the current person who holds the mantle and carries the legacy of the name William 'Joesph' Blazkowicz is now Hell's most feared man alive.
Before the Doomslayer's claim to infamy, he was just a marine on a planet called Earth and had an unspectacular career. That was before he assaulted his senior officer when he was ordered to fire upon civilians on one of his missions. The rest of his squad was only punished for following William's example and lead and did not fire a single bullet the civilians. As punishment for assaulting a superior officer, William was sent to Mars, home of the Union Aerospace Corporation or UAC for short. The rest of his team was simply to Pearl Harbor for disciplinary actions. With nothing to do out on Mars, William was essentially sent there to waste away in boredom for the rest of his career. As the months past, his anger was slowly boiling. Being punished for NOT killing the innocent? This only made him madder as time went on and was left to stew in his frustration. At least William had his pet rabbit with him on Mars.
Meanwhile, The UAC was experimenting with portals and finally moved on to human testing after countless successes with inanimate objects and a few live animals. When they were testing on live human subjects, strange things started happening. As they went through the portal and back, they began spewing out vulgarities and became extremely erratic, attacking anything that moves or breathes. After a week of this, they explode in a gory spectacle of blood and guts. Trying to sort out the body parts of each exploded test subject soon a job the UAC were willing to pay people good money for if they can stand the smell and gore.
After a few months of this, one of the moons on Mars was getting attacked from alien creatures before they decided to close off the portals after the countless failed experiments. The marine on Mars was the closest to the attack so William and the rest of the marines on Mars were sent to assess the damages and if possible, save any staff members that survived. When they got there, William was told to wait for the others outside the facility while the rest of the marines scouted the area. William agreed to this and waited for a few hours without getting a single call from them. William suspected the worse and when he entered the facility, there were no survivors.
William fought through each facility on Phobos, the alien attack unrelenting. The entire experience was a nightmare for William, unending hordes of demons that never seem to wane in numbers. He fought with ferocity in each facility he went through, the demons getting more restless and relentless with each one he escapes. No survivors from the staff or the marines that were sent there. It got to the point where he told the main bases on Mars that all the UAC Facilities were completely infested with demons and there was no end to them. The UAC then ordered William to start the self-destruct sequences on each facility and destroy them. William followed these orders and fought through each facility one last time to activate the self-destruct sequences on each facility.
After this tiresome and suicidally dangerous task, William was soon sent to Earth, thinking that he would finally go back home and try to forget all horrors he has faced. This was not true when he saw the ruins of various across Earth and was tasked by the UAC to help repel the invasion. William was the only one who survived the onslaughts on Phobos and Deimos and was the only one who had the experience to kill the demons. William was soon told to train a special squadron of elite marines to care of these threats and to them on to his students. Now, William wasn't a teacher, so the only advice he could was 'shoot them until they're dead'.
When humanity evacuated into space and was waiting until Earth was freed from Hell. After William began his unit's ACTUAL training and trained them to his skills, they began to liberate cities from the demons with William leading each siege on the cities. It wasn't until they found out the true source of the demons in William's hometown. William told his soldiers that he would do this mission alone and close the portal himself. After some protesting from his soldiers, he left without saying goodbye, not even leaving a note behind saying how proud he was of them. He truly was proud of his unit, but he felt he needed to this mission alone.
As William fought through the demons of Hell for what he thought was the last time, he finally found the demon responsible for the invasion, The Icon Of Sin. After an epic battle between the mortal man William Blazkowicz the III and The Icon Of Sin, the man named William stood triumphant over the demon overlord. Before he left, he still saw a portal to Hell and saw something that would eventually spawn the legend of the Doomslayer.
He saw countless portals to an endless amount of dimensions and different worlds that Hell was conquering. William thought about an important decision he would learn to regret. He stepped through the portal and permanently closed it behind him, forever denying Hell his original planet forever. Now he wanders the nightmarish planes of Hell, slowly turning into a myth that demons would joke about from time to time. Eventually, this would into a nuisance as William began denying Hell planets for their dimension to merge with. Soon this nuisance became a wanted man after constantly destroying blood temples to their demon overlord, Satan himself. He soon became feared amongst them, fodder demons were too fearful of him to even fight him. Then over millennia of bloodshed, death, and destruction, William soon became the most feared man in Hell. A man was so fierce and merciless that not even the Titans of Hell could stand against him.
The newly dubbed Doomslayer was now something entire armies feared would never come to interfere with their conquest. The dimensions he has saved from damnation revered him as a savior and built monuments to his honor. Through the fiery depths of Hell, to the deepest and darkest void, the Doomslayer was infamous throughout the entirety of Hell. There wasn't a demon in Hell who didn't know of the Doomslayer.
Fortunately for Hell, the Doomslayer was getting tired of fighting, tired of all the bloodshed he has caused. His seemingly eternal rage was dwindling and he was getting less violent with each dimension he rescues. He would save one last dimension and maybe relax a little. Settle down and build a family with someone. He finally retired from his position in a dimension called Argent D'Nur.
It was a relatively new dimension and after he saved Argent D'Nur from Hell, he soon settled down and had a family. After a few hundred years of exploring Argent D'Nur, he was approached by beings called Wraiths. They were beings of great power and requested someone like the Doomslayer to protect them from Hell. The Doomslayer was reluctant to accept but defending his new home from Hell was what won him over. William soon began defending the wraiths and had a family on one of their planets. He also founded a group of warriors he personally trained and called themselves The Night Sentinels. This reminded William of his old unit way before he was revered as the Doomslayer and felt a deep bond with his group of warriors.
After centuries of defending Argent D'Nur and serving the wraiths, the demons of Hell kidnapped the only son of the Doomslayer and gave him a choice. They would return his son to him if he leads them to the resting place of the wraiths or they will kill him and turn him into something he would never recognize as his son. After showing him nightmares of his son getting tortured, the young screams of his child would constantly echo his mind. Even with William's great willpower and strength, he's still mortal and can still succumb to his emotions. Anger was the only feeling he felt during his rampages after all.
Five entire years of these nightmares and William finally relented and lead them to the resting place of the wraiths. It was a bloodbath as the demons tore through the wraiths and turned Argent D'Nur into a twisted hellish parody of itself. One of the Night Sentinels learned of his leader's betrayal and began beating on William's head when he found him. William did not resist as he was beaten by his own soldiers before they killed by the demons of Hell.
Maybe it was desperation or maybe they've forgotten who he was, but the demons didn't keep their word. They turned the Doomslayer's young son into something he never thought he would see ever again. The Icon Of Sin was reborn through his son's soul and was turned into an abomination of humanity. This soon became the spark that would reignite the rage of the Doomslayer and he would rip and tear through Hell with a ferocity never seen before in Hell.
The carnage that followed was so devastating to Hell, that the ones betrayed the Doomslayer was punished severely for ever thinking that betraying the Doomslayer was a good idea. The Doomslayer focused ALL of his attention to Hell and was a monster that every demon feared. The old stories that the new generation of demons was told by the ancient demons who escaped his wrath was now a reality. The new demons had no idea of what to do and the ancient demons of old never gave an answer, for they themselves didn't how to stop the Doomslayer. The situation was only made worse when their greatest enemy, the Seraphim, has given new powers.
It wouldn't be until the Hell Priest would spring a trap onto the Doomslayer that they hoped would last an eternity. This would not be the case when he has awoken after a century of slumbering in his coffin. He would be discovered by another version of the UAC that was researching Argent Energy instead of portals for transportation. His powers were severely weakened and the demon fodder was sent to the UAC so they can finally put an end to the Doomslayer. As he explored the new UAC facility, he has found an artifact called the Crucible that can absorb the Argent Energy in a place the UAC calls The Well. He recognized this place as the former resting place of the wraiths. After a while, the spirits of the Night Sentinels has forgiven the Doomslayer for his betrayal. When he went back to an ally known as Samuel Hayden, he was betrayed and had the Crucible taken away from him. He was sent to another dimension before Samuel said that they'll meet again someday. The Doomslayer tried grabbing the Crucible but failed in doing so, disappearing in a flash blue light as Samuel walked away.
Though he has been betrayed, the demons of Hell have gotten the message that the Doomslayer is back and he's here to stay. As his thunderous weapons deafen the battlefield, his dogma would remain true and steadfast. After all, all great forces need an opposite and the Doomslayer was the best candidate for being the single force to oppose Hell. After all, what better person would do the job better than a man who's too angry to die?
Author's Note: Howdy everyone, thanks for reading to the end of this chapter. I don't think I've seen a fanfiction do a combination of these three franchises and if if there was, I wasn't looking that hard. So the ones that dragons and demons fear the most are now on one planet together. I'm actually surprised no one thought of this, a dragon slayer and a demon slayer in a world where demons and dragons are the main focus of the show. That kinda sounds like a recipe for disaster doesn't it?
Also don't worry about the Dragonborn and Doomslayer joining a peerage, they're much smarter than that and would probrobly destroy anyone who thinks that can control them. I don't know if I should do a harem for any of the characters since the Dragonborn is on the levels of a god and doesn't need someone to love and the Doomslayer is well... the Doomslayer.
Let me know how you feel about this in your reviews and check out my other stories on my profile. I hope you have wonderful rest of your day and I'll see you next time I upload :D
