A/N: Fluff, just fluff, but I really love this pairing. I tried to keep them in character. What do you think? Review!!
"Ran are ya goin' ta be there t'night?" Gin asked, his lips curved up in his usual smile.
"Of course," Rangiku replied. "I never miss our date night, you know that."
"Jus' makin' sure," Gin shrugged. "I'll see ya later Ran."
Before she had the chance to ask what they were doing tonight, he had already flash stepped away. Rangiku just shook her head. Typical Gin, leaving her hanging like that. Then again, the way he could surprise her was one of the things she liked most about him. She was humming as she made her way to 10th division headquarters.
"Matsumoto!" Hitsugaya yelled. "More working, less humming. You're already late!"
"You're no fun Taicho," Rangiku pouted.
She started working, stopping almost every twenty minutes to take a swig of sake and sigh loudly.
"Why don't you go early today?" Hitsugaya suggested in exasperation after a few hours had passed.
"Thank you Taicho!" Rangiku exclaimed.
Hitsugaya's mouth curved into a half smile in spite of himself. Obviously Rangiku had other things on her mind today, like maybe a certain silver haired captain.
She made her way to the third division headquarters, hoping that Gin wouldn't mind starting date night a little earlier than usual. The first person she encountered was Kira, and she waved him over and started to make conversation.
"So where's your taicho?" Rangiku asked casually.
"Supposedly working," Kira answered. "He's probably inside."
Saying a polite goodbye, Rangiku made her way to Gin, weaving through the large crowd of shinigami. She didn't bother ignoring all the lustful eyes on her, instead she blew a few kisses to her admirers and watched in amusement as they gawked. Rangiku wasn't vain, but she wasn't stupid either. She knew she was gorgeous.
"Ah, Ichimaru taicho!" she called when she finally found him.
He didn't bother to do the proper thing and in front of all the shinigami around, he gently pressed his lips to her cheek.
"Are ya ready?" Gin breathed, his lips brushing over her ear.
"Ichimaru taicho, this is very inappropriate," she told him, trying to hide the smile that was threatening to light up her face.
"They should know tha' you're mine," Gin replied slyly.
Rangiku just rolled her eyes and let him lead her outside. She found herself in a place she thought she had never been before. Then she realized she was just in one of the many gardens, though she'd never been there in full bloom. Night had fallen and the stars were twinkling.
"Gin it's perfect," Rangiku smiled. "Look at all the stars."
"They can' even compare ta ya Ran," Gin said truthfully.
She shoved him lightly. He always knew how to make her feel special, just in the little romance he cooked up for them every week.
He put his arm around her and followed her gaze to the sky.
"They're so peaceful," Rangiku remarked. "Just shining beautifully without a care in the world."
"Beautiful and distant," Gin reminded her.
"Like a silver fox I know," she retorted.
Gin held her closer and pulled her into a deep kiss which he didn't allow her to break until she was gasping for air.
"I'll never know what you're thinking, will I?" Rangiku sighed.
"I ha' ta keep ya on your toes Ran," he smirked. "Otherwise ya might just find someone better."
"Don't say things like that," she silenced him by placing her finger on his lips. "That'll never happen."
"If I'm lucky enough," Gin replied thoughtfully. "It's not like I want ta lose ya, Ran."
Rangiku wrapped her arms around his neck and laid her head on his shoulder.
"I'm the lucky one here," she whispered. "Sharing this starry night with you."
"I don' plan on sharin' ya with anyone," Gin declared. "Even the stars."
