The base intercom crackled to life, drawing the attention of the SOLDIER and staff on the base, throwing the entire canteen into silence. There was the sound of muffled giggling, and a young woman's voice echoed across the base.

"Good morning, staff and SOLDIER. Take note of what I say. On base we will have showers, for April starts today." There was the sound of the microphone switching hands, and a young man's voice continued.

"Some commanders were suspended for giving too much work, and today if you feel lazy, you'll be allowed to shirk." There was giggling, and the woman was back.

"We want to find the SOLDIER who put the pig in the pool. It's now running down the hallways, and that's against the rule." More giggles followed, and the man was back.

"Today on our lunch menu are bumble bees in sauce, or chopped cockroach sandwiches, and salad you can toss." The girl joined the man again.

"Next year we'll pay our SOLDIER for their level of cool. And if you believed these messages, then you're an April Fool!" Even some of the older, more stoic SOLDIER had hard time containing chuckles at the squeaks, "SHIT"'s, and "FUCK"'s that followed the "announcements" A familiar voice roared over the base at the two practical jokers as they flew into the canteen.

"FAIR! RAIN! THE TWO OF YOU GET BACK HERE!!" The more than familiar spiky hair of Zack Fair dove behind Angeal as the black curtain of Summer Rain dove behind Genesis. The older SOLDIER sighed as Sephiroth stormed in, silver hair streaming behind him.

"Good morning, Sephiroth."

"Genesis. Angeal. I take it you heard the morning "announcements"?" Summer squeaked slightly when Genesis tugged on a lock of her hair in retaliation for giggling.

"We will handle their punishments, Sephiroth." Miffed, Sephiroth turned to storm back out of the canteen. Angeal almost lost the battle with a laugh when he saw almost a foot of the general's brilliant silver hair dyed a shocking neon pink. Summer giggled again as she settled herself in the empty chair beside Genesis. Zack slid himself into his chair beside Angeal. Genesis sighed and shook his head.

"The two of you can't keep out of trouble, can you?" Zack chuckled and shook his head.

"Sorry, Ang, but no." Summer reached up and pulled a few chunks of hair forward and started braiding them. Zack shared a grin with his partner in crime. Silence fell over the canteen again as the door slammed open for the second time that day. Summer was prevented from turning around by Genesis.

"Someone finally caught it?" she asked Zack. The dark haired soldier grinned and nodded. "Who?"

"Reno." A yelp escaped the girl's mouth when Genesis gripped a braid and pulled.

"Someone ordered a pig?" Angeal sighed and considered joining Genesis when the redhead slammed his head against the table.

"This is going to be a long day."
