Prologue
"What's our status? Any security breaches?"
The young officer looked over at his commanding officer.
"No security breaches detected sir. The sky is clear and nothing on the ground except us."
The Commander nodded and stood next to the Lieutenant.
"If you ask me this Supply Depot is more likely to be invaded by a swarm of bees then an attack force. These security measures are almost ten years old now."
"I know what you mean. I've been stationed here for six months and nothing has happened at all on these night shifts."
The Commander started to say something when he felt the ground shake.
"Did you feel that?"
"No.....but I think I see what did it."
The Commander looked to where the Lieutenant was looking and immediately went for his rifle.
"Hold it right there!"
What the Commander saw looked like a large human sized Mobile Suit, except that it looked little like a Scorpion standing on two feet.
It was mostly red and had to large claws on the end of it's arms. The Commander also saw what looked like a long tail that had a large stinger on the very end of it.
The Lieutenant pulled out his rifle and pointed it at the Scorpion's head.
"What do you think it is sir?!"
"I don't know! Stay where you are....thing!"
The Scorpion placed it's claws at it's sides and stood still.
"Good! Now get on the ground!"
Before he could react, the Scorpion struck the Commander in the chest with his stinger. The Commander fell to the ground wounded.
"Commander!"
The Lieutenant fired his rifle and blasted the Scorpion in the head. The shot bounced off it's head and flew off in another direction.
The Scorpion pointed it's stinger at the Lieutenant and an energy blast struck him. He felt the blast go through him and he fell to the ground with a muffled scream.
The Commander had seen what had happened and laid still. The Commander stayed where he was and didn't move.
Not even when several dozen more Scorpions appeared and attack the Supply Depot.
