A leaf falls; a tear rolls down a cheek.

Promises are made, yet the future looks bleak.

He's going away again, though she begs him not to.

He'll see new worlds again, far away from her.

For him, the trip will all be a blur.

But for her, it'll last an eternity.

As he starts to leave, she holds him tight.

"Don't leave me again, give up the fight."

"I can't; it's my duty. You don't want them here again."

As he walks away, his vision begins to fog up.

He pushes on, thinking he has to be tough.

Then he makes the mistake of looking back.

She had fallen to her knees,

her hair was blowing gently in the breeze.

But her eyes were full of sorrow.

He turned around and ran quickly back to her.

As he stooped down, she didn't stir.

Her face was hidden; a treasured memento in her hands.

A reminder of a promise, Oathkeeper.

The tears were finally let go as he saw how much he meant to her.

He wrapped his arms around her, and held her close.

"Have you forgotten, Kai? I'm always with you."

She looked up into his eyes, as heliotrope met blue.

"I'll come back to you again. I promise."
