When he would smile, Sora would notice.
"I'm glad I can be able to see you smile, Riku. "
It was mostly because of the bouncy brown haired boy that Riku even bothered to smile. He wouldn't smile for Kairi, he wouldn't smile for Roxas, and he wouldn't smile for his own parents or Sora's.
He only smiled for Sora. That's it.
And that meant something, dammit.
When he would lie, Sora would can him out on it.
"Riku, are you okay?" the brunette said as he curled his toes in the warm sand.
Riku smiled, "I'm fine, Sora."
"Lies. That smile is fake too." Sora deadpanned as he turned to face his silver-haired best friend.
Riku continued to smile softly, closing his eyes and letting the warm breeze rip through his silver locks and kiss his face. "I'm not lying. I'm just tied."
"I still don't believe you, but if you don't want to talk about it, then that's all on you." Sora said. He jumped up to his feet and started removing his shirt. "Come on, strip them clothes off and lets go swimming!"
And with that, Sora ran to the edge of the tiny island and jumped.
I'm not lying when I say that I'm tied, but I'm lying when I say that I'm alright. Sora…
He shook his head violently, slapping his cheeks gently. Now was no time for negativity, now was the time to rip off his shirt and go for a swim and he did just that.
Now, to say that Riku wasn't a little happy that Sora blushed when he saw his naked toned chest would be lie; the biggest, fattest lie that would have even been uttered, because Riku as fucking delighted as a fucking horse with a 20 foot penis and a female within range that was in heat.
That's always a lovely thought.
For now, Riku was just happy to have Sora and him be as close as they were. He didn't want to go and ruin it because of his own stupidity. The only thing could do to show Sora that he loved him was to wrap an arm around his shoulder in a brother fashion and said:
"I love you, man."
Sora would laugh and punch his shoulder lightly.
"I love you, too."
But Sora meant it just as much his Riku did.
