I can't believe this. I got in trouble in class! All I did was doze off… ok, well, I
guess I should have been listening to the teacher, but I couldn't concentrate! All I can
think about is him… he gave up his life for me. He was in his brother's body, and he
sacrificed it for me, so that I would live.
Did I love him? Well, I can't really tell. He was more like a good friend; yet, he
could be so cruel at times. Whenever I needed him, he was there for me. I think I could
have learned from him. I walk down the street, looking for Miaka because I need
someone to talk to. She's probably off with Taka having fun… I get jealous of her
sometimes.
I walk into the nearest café- I need a soda. I don't know why I can't get him out of
my head! It seems like such a long time ago that we were all in the book. I wish we
could go back and change what happened, or maybe, I wish that Suboshi were alive in
this world. Maybe he could be… no, that was only with Taka. The waiter brings me my
drink. I glance over my shoulder, and then turn back around.
Wait a second- that looked like… Suboshi! I yell his name and run to him. He
turns around and looks at me, and I hug him, but I am pushed away. "Suboshi?" I say,
wondering if it is truly he. He looks at me strangely, "How do you know my name? Do I
know you?" The tears are flowing now. "Come on Suboshi! You're joking, right! You
have to remember me! I'm Yui! Don't you remember, the priestess of Seiyuu?" I yell, not
caring who hears me. He thinks, and then shrugs. "No, I don't think so… well, I have to
go." He walks out the door, and I follow him.
"What are you doing?" he asks me. "I know that you're Suboshi! Why don't you
remember me! You loved me! Do you not remember The Universe of the Four Gods?" I
ask, grabbing onto his arm. He pulls away. "What did you say?" he asks. "The Universe
of the Four Gods…" I reply cautiously. He looks curiously at me, and then reaches for
his pocket. I turn around, scared that he is pulling out a weapon, but he stops me.
I look at what he holds on his hands, and gasp. It's my old school bow, the one
that he used to come from the book world to this one! Tamahome had given it back to
me, but I had thrown it away because I didn't want to remember… He holds it out to me,
and I try to take it from his hand. When I reach for it, my hand touches his, and
something miraculous happens. I cannot lift my hand, but I see something transferring
from it to his. The bow vanishes.
Suboshi blinks. "L...l…lady Yui? Is it really you?" he asks me. I cannot speak.
This must be something similar to the "jewels of memory" that Taka had to find. I nod
my head, and before I can say anything, Suboshi has his arms around me. "It all fits
together now" he says to me, "The only thing that I held with me through the
reincarnation were the words The Universe of the Four Gods, and that's when I knew the
bow was yours." I am confused, but then figure it out. Suboshi was reincarnated like
Taka! He lets go of me, and blushes. He had never held me like that in the book….
