They were fast. That was the answer. Everyone was slower than them.

Target. Enable decrease of mental speed to interact with others.
They hid. Their brain whirred on, as they were carried from the wreckage of their family's house by the giant (3 years), as they flew on a motorbike over Surrey (5 years), as they were placed on the doorstep of their maternal aunt (2 years). On the last day of the tenth year, their eyes snapped open.
Target reached. Bodily speed increased.
Vacate basket. Age increase to match mental. Create clothes, get rid of basket.
Find forest. Hibernate. Achieve mental target. Agreed.
The now 13-year-olds stood up and walked off into the distance, momentarily pausing to reorganise a pair of frozen tramps into an extremely compromising position. Satisfied with their work, they resumed their journey.
