Yes, this is not an actual FanFiction – more like a comparison between my old school and Hogwarts (property of JK Rowling). But I had to write it down after receiving some news about what is going to happen to my school this autumn. So, basically, feel free to review and tell me if you agree with what I've written (or not).
The day that your school closes before the summer should be a happy day. You get to go home to your family, stay up late, stay in bed for the whole day (if that's what you want), read, play football, go swimming, whatever you want to do, really; it's your holiday, after all.
What you do not want to find out is that next year, things will be different, and not necessarily in a good way.
A school should be a place where you feel safe; where you learn new things, where you get to have fun and play with your teachers, and where you get to meet people that you would otherwise never have met. That was how I saw my school and what was even better was that, now that I look back at it, it really gave me some perspective of the world.
My old school was a school where the majority of students weren't native Swedes; they were immigrants. A lot of them had parents that had fled from wars in Bosnia, Somalia and several other nations all over the world. Meeting them and learning first-hand about their culture and their way of life changed me and gave me new eyes to look at the world with. And this would never have been possible without our headmistress; the one who brought this school from being a school with the lowest standard possible to being one of the best in town.
And now the politicians have suddenly decided that the headmasters of the different schools are replaceable with the flick of a hand and they have nothing to say about it themselves, meaning that our amazing headmistress is now being moved to a different school.
Honestly, I have a bad feeling about this. The majority of the people in this town do not know a thing about how to teach in a school where the majority of the students are immigrants and do not have Swedish as their native language. And I believe that the main reason for our headmistress being sent away was the fact that she opposed the politicians and their idea for a "big school in the centre of town" instead of having smaller schools.
Why does this sound like Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix? I can cast the whole thing with that school as a base, if things start to go wrongly this autumn, and I will keep myself updated on what is happening. Of course I do not know about the students, yet, and their role in this thing, but the others are simple to point out.
-Albus Dumbledore – definitely our headmistress
-Dolores Umbridge – whoever the new headmaster/headmistress might be
-The Ministry – our utterly boring and stupid politicians
And the teachers at Hogwarts are, of course, the teachers at my school. And if things go wrongly I will take up the role of Sirius Black and encourage the students to go against the headmaster/Umbridge.
Alright, so that was some random comparison between Hogwarts and my school – my Hogwarts, which I am going to fight for, till the very end. So politicians of this town you better watch out; if you try and do anything that will utterly ruin the education that has been built up at this school, I will not stand aside and let you do that.
My Hogwarts will always be in my heart and soul. It will always be the school that opened my eyes for the world, and for that I will fight for you. Always.
Haha, yeah, that turned out pretty random, but it's just something that I had to write down. I don't have enough data to write a proper argumentation to the newspaper or anything like that and if I do I doubt it will result in anything. If something happens I believe that I have to actually go there and talk some sense into them.
