So here's Dustfinger after Meggie tells him that he's going to die if he goes back to the book. He runs away, and of course Farid follows him. Dustfinger tries to make Farid understand why he shouldn't follow him, and why he doesn't want him, but in the end decides to take him with anyway. Hope you guys likey!

Go Away

Go away, little boy.

Can't you leave me in peace?

This imprisoning world

Should grant me that, at least.

Step aside, little boy.

Let me live out my days

Miserably, oh yes,

But I've always found ways.

Look around, little boy

And tell me what you see.

Do you combat fear by

Blindly following me?

Answer this, little boy:

Can you explain why

I see no trace of homesickness

Deep in your eyes?

Can you see, little boy,

All the danger we face?

I can't give you protection

In this fetid, strange place.

What is it, little boy,

That you wish for from me?

Just companionship?--Ah, yes,

That's it. It must be.

Take the time, little boy,

To examine your cause.

I've never been one to

Follow promises, laws.

So take care, little boy.

And weigh all the stakes.

One shouldn't take lightly

The decisions one makes.

You persist, little boy,

So we'll give it a try.

You can shadow my movements

And I won't ask why.

But take heed, little boy

And don't ever forget

That if I say, "Goodbye,"

You must leave--live and let.

Come along, little boy,

We're going back there--

Back where malice rules all

And fear clouds the air.

There's no fear, stupid boy,

In your Arabian eyes.

The cowardice in my heart

I doubt you realize.

So come on, little boy

And do not go away.

For who knows? I just

Might need you this day.

Yay, even more Dustfinger poetry:D Actually, I might be overdoing it just a tad. Ah well, it's fun despite everything. More should be coming soon!
