Nintendo own Pokemon.
Latias didn't know what to do. Her brother… gone. Disappeared into the mist like the cold morning fog disappears as the sun rises. She had flown across the city in the hope that maybe she could chase it -the mist that she swore watched over her in the morning and evening. But the mist was faster than her; she had flown into it once before it just dissipated into the air like a ghost. But that wasn't what troubled Latias. It wasn't the only mist in Altomare. Another, darker presence in the form of 'mist' had been following her, and Latias felt that despite the other warmer mist being there, this 'mist' was out to get her.
She became paranoid, twitching whenever she saw the mist drift mindlessly over the city and hiding in the secret garden whenever the mist came too close.
And Latias had not been the only one to sense this presence. Other Pokemon wild and tame alike fled at the mere sight of the dark mist, squeaking and mumbling how dreadful it felt. For Pokemon unfortunate enough to have the mist invade their home, they raised their hackles and bared their teeth. But after two days of endless growling at "something that wasn't there" (as their trainers put it), the mist won, and the Pokemon would admit defeat and flee to the secret garden. It was there that they pleaded Latias's protection. Latias however explained to them in turn that the mist seemed to affect her just as much as it did them if not more. As a human might say, the presence 'had it in for her'. At this Pokemon sighed and muttered words of anger. Sometimes they blamed Latias, other times they blamed people and other times they blamed the Mist. However, no-one dared blame Latios, and for good reason.
The last Pokemon to blame Latios for the disturbance ended up flattened into a wall and being crushed by a psychic force. Latias had then released the Pokemon and gone elsewhere, and the Pokemon had been quick to avoid her ever since.
And so it was that the two Mists watched over the psychic dragon, and Latias in turn avoided both like a plague. Latias was not just having trouble with the Mist's physical presence. The darker mist, whenever she came far too close to it, seemed to shock her and cause her to go into something near a fit. At this point she would usually flee to the garden to slam about in this 'fit' there, as if she had been taken over by the Mist and made to do things her mind begged her not to do. Thankfully no Pokemon had ever been around when such madness took over the dragon, and so no-one knew about the trouble Latias was having.
Every night since the appearance of these Mists Latias had been suffering flashbacks and other dreams. The flashbacks and memories made her tearful in her sleep, and whenever the Pokemon woke she would see the edges of the black mist hovering dangerously near the garden. It scared the dragon that such an evil presence was simply looming. She wouldn't have minded as much if it had done something particularly evil or violent. But no, it just... it just floated day in and day out. And there was nothing Latias could do about it.
Never before had the dragon felt so utterly helpless in her entire life.
Ooh, spooky mist. Be afraid, be very afraid!... Ahem, well anyways, 1st chapter up. Dunno when the next update will be.
