Again! It had happened again! Why the hell did she keep being late? It was ten minutes after curfew when she had realised that she should be in common room right now. She quickly gathered all her things and hurried down the corridor. It seemed darker than usual. Was it because of presence of dementors? Wait what? Why would she even think about something like that? Dementors couldn't possibly be in the castle. Dumbledore would be furious and who would let them in, in a first place?

Maybe she was just paranoid. Yeah, that was it. She had seen too many horrors. But you had to admit, stone walls with fire burning on the sides, high ceilings, armours covered with webs … scary.

Only one sound could be heard, her steps echoing on the hard floor. She was aware that if someone caught her now, she would be in a lot of trouble. But somewhere deep down she wished to be found. She would lose some points, that's all but she wouldn't be alone.

She was nearing the dark corner. It seemed like no light come from that corridor. Her steps were slow now, as if she was awaiting an attack. She felt it in her gut. Something was not okay. Something terrible was about to happen. Her breath was fast, her eyes focused right in front of her. She slowly took out her wand.

Here it came. Only few more steps. Her heart was beating frantically. Her hand was outstretched, ready for defence but still shaking madly. One more step, she could see no light in the end. But she knew where she was. Only few more halls to her common room.

She was covered in darkness. Her mouth was already forming the word 'lumos' when it happened. She heard weird sounds. As if dog was there with her. Dogs weren't allowed in Hogwarts. She must be imagining it. She quickly said 'lumos' and yelled at the sight of a huge black dog in front of her. He was five metres away from her but she could clearly see his big fangs and that was the only thing that mattered.

She lifted her wand ready to cast the spell but the dog was quicker. He jumped at her and bit her arm. Wand fell to the ground and she was screaming loudly now. The dog attacked her one more time. He jumped at her, hit her in chest with its paws, leaving long scratches which would scar. She was trying to kick him or at least throw a punch his way but it was to no use. She had been losing blood rapidly. The wound on her arm was deeper than she had thought. She lost her balance and hit the hard ground. That would only add some bruises. She tried to resist the dizziness but she couldn't. She passed out.

I don't own Harry Potter. Thanks for reading.
