A black storm raged around the Labyrinth, and it was completely Jareth's fault. For once the Goblin King could not keep his feelings in check. He paced up and down the hall, heels clicking viciously on the marble floor, only pausing every once in a while to mutter something along the lines of, " She did what… damn ….stupid…beautiful…what the HELL!" At this quite inopportune moment the huge hall doors were flung open letting in the elements and the source of the Kings rage, trying to choke back laughter. "SARAH!"
The girl stiffened and looked up absolutely sure of what she would find etched in the Goblin King's face: worry, concern and pure fury. That last emotion didn't bode well for the soaked damsel not at all Sarah would have to change tactics from her original plan. Now instead of sympathy she was going to try and create a whole lot of confusion, but how… "Run!" She screamed as if directing soldiers in battle. At the utterly bewildered look on Jareth's face she decided it was as good a time as any and dashed right past the quite dashing man. "Oh yeah still got it,' she thought running as fast as she could in the soaked, many-layered, white dress would allow. Jareth stood in amazement, trying to register what it was that had just happened, and then was off. The Goblin King pelted after Sarah cursing the fact that she had managed to reach the stairs at the end of the hall. Jareth climbed the steps at a time and took her down like a quarterback. No, I'm joking. Jareth wrapped his arms around Sarah's waste apparently ready for her to struggle but was again surprised when contrary to popular belief, she burst into a fit of uncontrollable cancer. No, I'm joking again. She burst into an uncontrollable fit of giggles.
"Sarah," He growled through clenched teeth.
"I'm sorry Jareth, but you weren't there when I showed up so I went wandering around, and then this freak storm came up, and I thought…Hmmm he must have found out I'm gone. Then I tried to find my way back and kept bumping in to dead ends and by that time I was drenched… and I knew it wasn't a good idea to come in through here, cuz you would be here, but all the other doors and windows were locked. And that's why I came through the nice door," She spoke in a rush.
"That was the purpose of sealing off all the other entrances," he bit out.
"So you're saying that you purposely made me walk around the entire castle and ruined this perfectly good dress?"
"You're blaming this on me?" He asked, eyebrow raised and gestured at her gown.
"Quite."
"And how exactly do you come to that conclusion Princess?" He let her go and placed his hands akimbo on his hips.
"You were late I got bored and went outside, you got mad and it started raining then you locked all the doors but the last one you knew I would take because I knew you would be behind it and here we are." She had a good point…several of them in fact.
Jareth growled, and wind whistled through the hallway.
Suddenly Sarah became quite conscious of the position she was in. The dress she had dawned this afternoon had become absolutely drenched and clung to her frame, her hair much in the same condition plastered itself to her neck…right where the Goblin king had decided his face should be. Her back was firmly pressed against the king's chest and his arms were wrapped tightly around her slender waist.
"I should go change," she said completely sobered.
"Oh no, My dear, this is your punishment, deal with it." He spun her around and picked up her lithe body and carried it to his room.
