AN: So this is my first story, a one-shot about the NextGen. It's inspired by 'Magic' by MandyJane, check out her story! Thanks for reading, please review(:
It's a good question, one the Muggleborns ask all the time. Who are they? Because even those who don't know about the war, about the people who fought and died against darkness, even they know that there is something about the group sitting beneath the willow tree.
Maybe it's the way the girls with the flame-coloured hair fiercely protect the others, with fists and sharp retorts and well-aimed hexes.
Or how the redheaded boys, along with one boy with messy black hair smirk as they plan to wreak havoc in the school, and unknowingly, in girls' hearts.
Perhaps it's how some of them, like the black-haired boy's younger brother, are slightly distant and detached, making themselves almost mysterious.
Or maybe it's the beauty of the two silvery-haired sisters, with their captivatingly luminous eyes.
Or the innocence of the younger ones, with bright eyes and sparkling laughs.
The way they glow happily, successful in all that they do. Earning straight O's on OWLs, capturing Quidditch captaincies and championships, masterminding the greatest pranks ever known to Hogwarts since their Uncles Fred and George were there. Even simply walking around the castle grounds, they garner attention.
The girls are watched by lovesick boys, some who boldly proclaim their adoration and others who shyly look on from the sidelines, sneaking glances out of the corners of their eyes. And the girls fall in love.
The boys are trailed by hormone-crazed teenaged fangirls, who stalk them diligently, almost to the point of insanity. Girls who swoon every time one of them even flicks a glance their way. But of course, ultimately, the boys have the bad fortune to fall the hardest for the girls who ignore them, who don't give a crap about how good-looking, how funny, how smart and how talented they are.
But I think it's the sense of unity about them, the way they stand determinedly and tall, how they have an almost iridescent aura about them, that comes only from being loved and believed in all their life.
And look what that love empowered them to do, who it empowered them to be.
If everyone was loved like that, how much more beautiful could the world be?
